Recording is not working. I'm using an iMac with FF3 and Safari. Everything on my end is functional but when I push the record button - nothing happens on 12 seconds. Is the system down? tparish

Inappropriate?Hi Otir,
Yes this seems to be happening for me as well. I contacted Jacob, our engineer to see what's up. thanks for sending this in!!

Inappropriate?I posted about the same problem a while ago:

It never worked for me, and it still isn't working. Could someone address this problem? 12seconds is such a great idea and not being able to use it properly is really frustrating. -
Inappropriate?Mac 10.5.5 / FF3.0.3 / Safari 3.1.2.
I can see the video OK but the Record button does absolutely nothing.
Only signed up today, not a good first impression.

Inappropriate? The record button isn't working in Safari 3.1.2, just doesn't respond at all. Firefox is fine. Mac OS 10.5.5.

Inappropriate? Are there any updates on this problem and how many people are affected by it? And what the cause might be?
For the record, 12seconds staff so far has been really nice and helpful, I appreciate it! -
Inappropriate?hi tim. I have not experienced this problem. I just recorded a 12 in firefox and it worked fine.... let me try safari right now. Okay that just worked.
tim, can you let us know what your are experiencing?
thanks!

Inappropriate?hi,
the webcam works fine, it feeds to the recorder (settings: usb built in webcam; built in microphone, allowed 12seconds access to the webcam and mic) but when i hit the "record" button nothing happens (the rollover works though).
i tried it again after i filled out all the fields on the right, but it's still not working. the timer always stays on ":12".
i recently updated my system to mac os 10.5.6 and firefox to 3.0.6, problem still persists. i tried it again with firewall (little snitch is running) and pop up blocker switched off, doesn't do anything. it's like the recorder is working, but disconnected from that darn button.
i had this problem since i signed up for 12seconds and wasn't able to post any videos from my computer yet (cellphone upload works).
anything you want me to try? could this be a problem on my side? it's weird that i still have this problem after going through all these browser updates...
thank you! -
hey tim. so can you tell me what your network situation is? are you on a home network, public, or through your workplace or school? Also are you using wi-fi? -
Inappropriate?I should add that I have not experienced this problem "recently".
There are typically two reasons why this might happen.
1. You are behind a firewall or some security that will not let the flash recorder through. This happens to me at my office. I work at Yahoo. I can use it if i'm on a wired connection there, but not on the secure wi-fi. This may also happen at schools. And is usually associated with wi-fi.
2. Our flash server is down. This means that no one can record for the duration that it is down. this has been happening less frequently as we are becoming more stable, but it does happen on occasion.
Let me know if you continue to have problems or if the first option makes sense for your situation.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?using IE7 on Vista OS, can see my video and mic works fine but can't press "record" - record button does absolutely nothing - puzzled?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I have the same problem on FF 3.5.3 and Safari 4.0.3. Any workaround if it's a firewall problem? I'm doing this from my company office. Will try it from a wireless connection once I get home.
I’m frustrated
