We're with you... replies are a very old part of 12seconds that we haven't been able to update and so it just doesn't play well with the more modern parts of the site. We've been meaning to update it, but we're not there yet. In a few weeks we'll be releasing some significant updates in the way that replies and messaging in general works and we think once that's done, it'll be a better experience.
