webcam doesn't work with flash 10 for linux
My laptop is 32-bit Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 8.10 with Firefox 3.0.4 and latest Flash 10 for Linux. My webcam is Logitech with v4l2 uvcvideo driver. It works fine with all applications as well as ustream. In fact, it used to work just fine with old 12seconds.
The current situation is I can't even open setting dialog of the flash player to allow swf to access webcam and microphone. The popup menu "setting" is simply disabled. However, it works like a charm in ustream.

Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem... I go to ubiqq.com (same version of Firefox and Flash) and try to click on the Allow button to let my webcam work. I cannot even click on Allow at all. I tried right clicking on the Flash movie in order to get to the settings, which worked fine. But, when I tried manipulating any of the settings or going to a different settings tab, I simply couldn't click on anything.
Hopefully, some genious will give us the answer as soon as possible. Or, at the very least, suggest that we use an older version of Flash or something.
Thanks to all who read, reply or even give this problem any thought at all!

Inappropriate? We will be looking into this. So hard to support all formats. I don't have immediate access to a linux machine, but if one of you guys wouldn't mind trying to use flash 9 to see if it works successfully, I'd appreciate it.
However we will figure this out and will do everything we can to make sure we are compatible with linux (and logitech cameras). -
Inappropriate? When chatting on cam at YAYchat I found I can get around this problem by "tabbing" and "spacing/cursoring" my way through the options and buttons of Flash. Works fine although it really is a problem with the way the chat and Firefox use the wmode parameter when embedding the webcam chat object.

Inappropriate? This is a problem with the wmode transparent that is used by the Flash content in 12Seconds site. The proper solution is that they change it to wmode window (for the 12Seconds crew, more info in Flash Player 10 Security Changes).
In the meantime, for end users, there is a possibility to allow permission to the 12seconds site to use camera & micro using an external Flash configuration page. Just go to this page, search the website "12seconds.tv" in the Pricacy Tab -it has an icon of a monitor with an eye inside-, select it and then choose "Allways allow". Now return to 12Seconds site and reload it ("settings" popup menu will still be disabled, but it should be possible to use camera).
I’m confident
