Why don't my emailed videos from cellphone show up?
I've emailed videos from cellphone to unique email address but videos are not appearing.

Haven't heard back from Jacob (or another 12seconds staffer) yet after sending an email. Very much understand that they're likely swamped with getting the functionality where they want it all across the board though. For those with Sprint Treo phones that ARE successfully sending, what method are you using--as an attachment to an email, or using the "share video" or upload to online or what? Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Because every single mobile phone operator sends video messages in a different way and uses different video types, we don't always know what to expect on our end. I've commented on everyone's posts here so I hope to look into each of your situations and see what is causing the problem.

Inappropriate?I've been experimenting and can't seem to get an upload from my Sprint Palm Centro to appear. I've used the + and the x... and I've also tried sending via the Centro's messaging app and email app. Still no go.
I have been entering txt in the subject line and body to see how uploaded videos will be tagged. I can't seem to find any info about that aspect. -
hey petepk... right now we don't have a way to tag videos from the phone. We will by the time we hit beta though. We were thinking that the subject becomes the title and words in the body of the text become tags. does that make sense? We'll look into the sprint palm centro issue too. thanks for hanging in there! we really appreciate it. -

Inappropriate?I have the same problem - I was able to email a video from my Nokia E65 (S60) phone to my personal email and it worked, and it played OK. I also tried forwarding the video to my unique email address and it didn't show up, so maybe it's 12seconds can't transcode it?

Inappropriate?ok. how long does it take to get video from phones converted/transcoded and posted? Per my earlier comment, it seemed to upload the video from my mobile phone... but it took over 5 hours to get it to show up!

Inappropriate?peteypk when did you send it? It should take minutes (like under 5) instead of hours. It's possible that the processor was hanging up at that time. Also can you give us the link of the video that you sent? We want to make sure we can debug this with as much info as possible.

thanks for investigating. the uploads/posts seem quite inconsistent. i sent a test vid from my sprint palm centro today (Aug20) -- sent same vid twice... 10:39a EST with "x" in the address... and 10:42a EST with "+". As of this post @ 10:54a... nada! -

Inappropriate?I have been using the mail feature quite successfully now, it happens fairly quickly, and my videos are relatively good considering my Nokia E65's camera is not exactly the highest quality.

Inappropriate?Sprint Users... it seems that in many cases Sprint does not send the actual video file to the recipient. Instead, they send the file to one of their servers and then the recipient receives a link to that file. We are working on a parser to handle this function so that 12seconds will work normally with the carriers that do this.
We apologize for the inconvenience and problems. When we have this working, we will update this thread.

Inappropriate?I submit videos using the Nokia E65 built-in mail client. I find the video in the media gallery, send it via email, click in the TO field and I have 12secondstv in my address book so I simply click it which marks its checkbox, do OK and it returns to email composer.
Then I enter a subject, copy the text to the body (editing it to leave just keyboards, I'm kind of hoping that the body will be the tags), and hit send.

i have tried to send the same video at least 5 times, and even generated a new address and still no luck. i tried sending a slightly shorter video and it didnt work either. :( -
Inappropriate?ugh! I hate sprint a lot sometimes. I hadn't thought about how it sends you an email w/a link instead of the file... I know that in the past, when tumblr upgraded my images would stop posting. To solve it the programmer had me send him a pic and then he did some magical thing with the information he gathered from the email sprint generated and then it would work till the next upgrade. So perhaps whatever he's doing is also the way to get video to post.
He's called marco (marco.org) maybe he knows what to do. Maybe he'll tell you what it is!
I love the idea of this and I'd love to do it w/o having to upload thru email. Can I have a "browse" button to upload through the site? That'd be nifty.
Also on my wish list would be a way to post this automatically on tumblr!

Inappropriate?Same problem. Just reaquianted myself to 12 seconds and it doesn't seem to be working. Vid is posting to 12 seconds site, but not twitter. Checked and double checked settings. I have an LG on Verizon.

If it's posting to 12seconds and not to Twitter, then it's not an issue with your phone or our mobile tools. Just try disconnecting/reconnecting your Twitter account - or check your privacy settings to make sure the default isn't set to private, and make sure the "Post to Twitter" checkbox is checked on the settings page. If all this is set, simply just try posting again today - Twitter was having some problems yesterday with too much traffic and could very well have just ignored our post requests for a period of time. -
Inappropriate?I had a video successfully upload the other day, but have not had it work since. I'm using a Blackberry Curve 8330 connected via Verizon. The Curve will allow me to enter my number - 12+999999 (it accepts the + character and of course the 9's here are different in my number) as an e-mail address (it goes in as the e-mail address, right?)
I've tried sending it both as an e-mail and an MMS. After trying for a bit, my Blackberry puts a red X next to the message indicating it did not go through.

It means you may not have MMS video enabled on your phone. If it keeps putting an X, it's never leaving your phone and so there isn't anything we can really do about it. It may just be your service area of something. Try sending your video to your own personal e-mail, see what happens. Also, there's usually a way to see what the error was for those failed messages. You can call Verizon with that possibly.
I used to use the Curve 8330 and it worked great with verizon and 12seconds so im not sure why its a problem. -
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem also with a verizon LG voyager. I think its got to be on the server side though because all the videos I've uploaded so far are from the same device and same e-mail address that I've sent to. So I know the videos from my phone are usable, just something isn't happening at 12seconds. IMO
