Twitter direct messages out of control: 3Jam resending old direct messages

Apparently there's been a change in the Twitter API and direct messages from Twitter are out of control.

3Jam just attempted to send every single DM I've ever received (DM's that it already sent) in the space of a few minutes. It's blown through $7.80 in a very short time frame and only stopped when I ran out of credit. You can see this on my account history page.

Can anything be done?
