Access data on iPhone offline
It will be great if iPhone can access the Evernotes offline. It is a major problem when I travel to somewhere oversea and I just use my iPhone in airplane mode (don't want to spend money on the data roaming). I don't mind to buy the Evernote Pro account if it allows the iPhone client to access data offline.

This is the main feature holding me back from really using Evernote. Lack of offline usability effectively cripples my using it on the iPhone. The current "offline" access has never worked for me, and even if it did it would be insufficient for me to be able to effectively use Evernote on my iPhone. I would like to see all text notes automatically stored locally on the iPhone for offline access, and then photo and audio notes required to be marked for offline access, with a overall size limit for all notes (20, 50, 100 mb available to be used on the iPhone). I realize that there might be size constraints enforced by Apple that are out of Evernote's control, but until something can be done about the "offline" access, I will be staying away from my iPhone evernote.
I’m disappointed.

Inappropriate?i think this should be seriously considered by the evernote devs. it would also make the app faster and more useful to users that need to check something on the go as evernote takes time to load notes and i suspect this would simply compound as people keep more and more notes into the thousands eventually.
I’m somewhat annoyed.

Inappropriate? It's been done! Anything you mark as a favorite on the iphone can be accessed offline. http://blog.evernote.com/2008/10/28/o...
It would be nice though if a whole a notebook could be set for offline access. Every photo would be too much data, but having more control from the web and desktop versions would be good.
I’m waiting

i would prefer if this feature would kick-in automatically by saving the last ten or twenty notes entered or at least the text ones. -
I agree. Marking a whole notebook as a favorite, making new notes added to it viewable offline automatically, would be great. -

at least remembering the last 50 or 100 text-only notes would be good. -
Inappropriate?I totally agree. I have 10 years of notes on my palm PDA. These notes represent all of my thinking over this time, and are constantly updated. I would dearly love to move them to the iPhone, but until I can edit them conveniently offline, there is no point in doing it. But for the weakness under discussion, Evernote would be ideal. I am sure many others are in a similar position

Inappropriate?I fully agree. I'm using quite a few iPhone apps that work offline and have a 'sync' button and that works great. Would really love to see the same in Evernote, as it is far too slow now to search through your notes. Don't think local storage is a problem afaik that's just limited by iPhone space.
I’m frustrated

you're right on it being slow. its slow. -
Inappropriate?Seems like a no brainer to add this feature. I probably will try another app instead if this feature doesn't get added.

im expecting it to be added sometime in the near future. the current 'star' option allows you to do this manually for specific notes. i think one of the challenges could be some large database sizes but mine is not that big and i suggest selective offline storage of specific notebooks. -
Inappropriate? The problem with the favorite feature is that it only seems to work for unformatted text. I have several favorites that are pictures, web clips, and PDF:s which I can't access in offline mode.
It would be great to be able to save travel information, hotel booking confirmations and time tables in Evernote when you go abroad, but right now that is impossible since only some favorites load in offline mode.
I don't get it. What's the point of favorites if they aren't cached locally on your phone? (If this is a long term goal and the current implementation is only a step towards that goal then that would make me feel a lot better about this feature as it stands. Right now, I think it's frustrating to see it implemented so half-heartedly.)
