Evernote should let users use private keys for encrypting their notes.
Is there any plans for Evernote to allow users to sync with their own private keys to encrypt their notes? Privacy and security is important to a lot of business users. Other services like Mozy (and Dropbox is intending to as well) use this for file encryption.
I know that they are just file synchronization/backup. So, it's not like the servers have to do anything to index or analyze the information. But, can there be a way to either offload OCR or indexing (partially or wholly) to a users system so that it's done privately and securely?
It seems like a sticking point for a lot of people. I'll settle for finding out if it's in the works. But at the very least, I was hoping for some information as to why it wouldn't be a good idea and what would be sacrificed if it was implemented.
