Improve note editor usability
I relly love Evernote, but the tedious editor sometimes gets to me.
I'd love to see some improvements so the editor wouldn't feel so awkward to use. Preferably, a total usability rewamp, but to get started, here are some concrete suggestions:
Improved button bar
Improved font menu
Further thoughts on this for those especially interested:

Further thoughts on this for those especially interested:
- Fix the formatting errors and changing lineshift problems caused by pasting content or using the web clipper (i.e. formatting changes not being saved, lineshifts coming and going etc.) Ideas might include:
- A "remove formatting" button (I can't get CTRL + SPACE to work in all cases)
- Automatic cleanup of pasted content when it's pasted
- Fix save/display code, so that changes are actually saved the way they look when you edit notes
- Increase the efficiency of use of the editor:
- Add keyboard shortcuts that work on european laptop keyboards (CTRL + ] or CTRL + SHIFT + > doesn't)
- Add "predefined style" shortcuts: Heading 1, Heading 2 and Normal, and add keyboard shortcuts for these (F1, F2, F3)
- Mimick MS Word shortcuts to change between the above: CTRL + SHIFT + ARROW LEFT = Increase heading level, CTRL + SHIFT + ARROW RIGHT = decrease heading level
- Allow users to define the H1, H2 and Normal styles (font and font size)
- Allow for richer editing of the notes in the "tape" view.

Inappropriate?Amen to everything you've said here. I wonder if Evernote is listening--lots of people suggest fixes, but they're not implemented as the months drag into years.

Inappropriate?BTW, formatting and layout is a broad area where Evernote is quite inferior to OneNote. If they could catch up, that would be a strategic coup for them; but they've a loooong way to go in this respect, very sadly. That's what keep me partly in the OneNote world.
