Pic App going to lose people...
You just ruined your company..I have multiple pictures on my pages and putting your new "and you may enjoy these too" bar makes my pages really look unprofessional. Gary

Inappropriate?Hi Gary,
First, thank you for the feedback.
The related images bar is our current way of monetizing our image service.
We started with displaying specific ads on the images but understood that our users want minimum interruption on their images.
Instead of displaying brut ads on the images we implemented the related images bar that gives your readers a chance to see more images in that subject and experience it as an additional service and reducing the ads on your content area.
We are always trying to improve ourselves for our users, I'll be happy if you could contact me directly at discover@picapp.com, I'll be more than happy to hear more from you (I really mean that!) about your perspective and ideas, so we can keep getting better.
I’m hoping to get advice

Inappropriate?Roi,
As you know, there were versions of the "overlay" that were less intrusive that were scrapped (even though they still exist - see http://brandingdavid.com/technology/f...). I understand if your testing showed these overlays didn't bring in enough revenue in terms of clicks. However, my belief is you'd get MUCH MORE revenue with this design (or something similar) because more blogs would use the service.
The number of bloggers you will miss out on because of this "gallery bar" has got to be huge. For example, say you get 1000 bloggers to sign up with your current "gallery bar." they have an average of 2000 visitors a month. You would do better to get either 100 bloggers with 20001 visitors or more likely 100000 bloggers with 201 visitors a month. I believe your efforts at monetization aren't properly tiered. There are levels below Blogher and Yardbarker that have high traffic and WILL NEVER, EVER go for the gallery bar, but couldn't strike the deal you've made with Yardbarker.
Why miss out on them to get higher clickthroughs from the remaining bloggers who have little traffic. This is an economics problem with adoption, clickthroughs and traffic as primary criteria. I hope someone over there is doing the math to properly target each of your markets and of course still keep your image partners happy.
Only time will tell, but it's worth putting forgone bloggers into your analysis. I am sure hundreds (if not thousands) of bloggers with high traffic aren't going to risk the impression on their readers at this point. Give us a better reason to switch and I'm sure we will.
