SynthaSite is, and always will be a free service. All the features that are currently free will remain free, and many new free features will be added. Additional advanced features might become available later which could carry a charge, but these will always be entirely optional.

Inappropriate?I am amazed...and I'm still trying to grok all this, so I've included a few more questions below:
--> The sites we create are free no matter how large they are? Or, will a space usage fee kick in on larger sites?
--> We can create as many sites as we want -- or is there a limit?
--> Fees may be charged at a later date for some features, but all the current services are free for now?
--> We can download our sites and host them elsewhere? -

Great news, isn't it? I am happy to tell you that there is no limit on the size of your site or the number of sites you can create. All the current features will remain free, and many great new free features will be added. You can download your sites and host them elsewhere, or publish your site to your own domain and still host it with us for free!
Oh, and we will never place unwanted adverts on your site. (But you can put your own adverts on your site if you want to.

Unfortunately at the moment visitors to your site won't be able to create profiles or login as a member on your site, we are busy developing this feature, so keep an eye out for it.
Since users can't post stories to your site, maybe you can consider adding a contact form were visitors to your site can email you their stories and thereafter you can add these stories it to the site. Here's a link in this forum on how to do this : http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...
