When I try to order a Pay Per View event, I get an error message. My DirecTV bill is paid up - What do I do?

Inappropriate?If you try to order a PPV event using your remote control, you'll get an error message because your satellite receiver is not connected to a phone line in our data center.
To order a PPV event, go to www.directv.com and login to your account. From there, the process is very easy. You can pick the event or program you want, the time you want to watch it and complete the purchase right there. Once you've completed the purchase, your receiver will enable that PPV event for you. -
Inappropriate?It would be interesting if ordering from the remoted would be enabled... have you ever considered it?

Inappropriate?Since we do not connect your receiver to a phone line, ordering from the remote is not possible. Ordering online at directv.com is free and takes about 2 minutes.

Inappropriate?That was my question actually, have you ever considered connecting the receiver to a phone line? Yes its just an optional but would be a plus. Of course I understand it might be troublesome to set up all that wiring...

Inappropriate?The big problem is that each receiver needs to have it's own telephone number. We could setup a vonage box for each receiver, but that would just add cost for the customer, not to mention a LOT of wires... I suppose if someone really wanted a phone line, we could set up a voip number, for a cost.
