SlingCatcher is Great; works with Harmony Remotes
The long awaited SlingCatcher is finally available, and it works great (more reliable than slinglplayer at least on the mac). One great thing is that it works with the Harmony remote's from logitech, so now it's possible to walk in the room, flick one button on the remote and get the TV, Surround, SlingCatcher all started up and working (and all neatly hidden inside a cabinet). The remote on the Catcher is way more responsive than on the computer software. It's now so easy that mom can even handle it and watch Oprah.
Only sad thing is that the Catcher itself is not wireless, but using a Linksys wireless-N gaming adapter enables the catcher to be next to the TV without a LAN connection and the speeds are terrific. Another GREAT thing is the catcher has an HDMI so only a single wire to the TV! Living room looks great, and I'm back to total control from the couch :-)

Inappropriate?slingcathcer works great now, after the last software upgrade. I was so sad when I first hooked it up, speed would stall at 250 or lower. After getting the new upgrade one week ago I stream up to 940 kps. NO proxy settings the catcher yet, I was told sometime in 2009 but no date given. The Proxy server is not stable for me. My speed will go to 1500 then drop to 600, it is all over the place. on the catcher my max is 940 but very stable. The quality looks much better then with my laptop hooked to the TV getting the same speed. I can move the Quality to the 2nd one. I like it so much I unhooked my laptop and am just using the catcher now on my tv. Even though the speeds are lower then useing the proxy the quality is very good. I have a 47 inch tv and speeds of 900 start to look very close to like watching normal tv. in fact most friends can not tell wish I am watching....I am sure if I could get a study 1200 connection it would look much better...I hope the proxy server will improve.
