Acer does not honor warranties.
I bought a Tablet PC from Sam's Club with a two year warranty. When I had a warranty claim after the first year, I was told that the two-year thing was a misprint and that "they should have taken that paper out of the box" before shipping it out. So the bottom line was, yes, it said two years warranty, but there was only a one-year warranty with it.
There was no escalation, no reasoning with Acer North America. Avoid this company and their disgusting customer service policies.

Inappropriate? Why not contact Acer corporate and ask them to honor the waranty.
http://global.acer.com/operations/ind...
Yeah, I trie to find media relationship email or corporate sales but could not find anything on their acer.com Website.
You may want to call Taiwan, but if they do not listen contact finacial analyst. Press the issue to investment banks

P.S. When I had a problem with Fujitsu notebook pc I contacted Japan and Singapore, finally they replaced the broken parts free of charge, even after the waranty expired, because it was a design flow!
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hi, Fernando! I have had just the opposite experience with Acer. I own a Ferrari 4000, and enjoy using it, but I've had 3 problems with the hardware. I previously (and wisely) purchased an extended warranty, and I was very nervous about shelling out the additional hundreds. (Everyone knows most "Extended Warranties" are not worth the paper they're written on.)
It has paid back in spades.
1st:
They fixed a fan issue: and went above and beyond - not by just replacing the fan, but replacing the heatsink, adding new copper, adding new BIOS, and cleaning the computer like shiny new!
2nd problem
I had worn all the paint off my touchpad left-click button: It's only cosmetic, but they said, "Bring it in when you have time". I did, and they not only replaced the button, but the whole touchpad, the keyboard, the entire front surface!!!
3rd problem: my built-in microphone failed, and they guided me by phone to try and revive it. No luck. Perhaps a re-install might help? I said my recovery disks were too old and scratchy: They sent me 2 new sets for $29: including the Windows X64 OEM version! My parrot had chewed through my power cord, and they replaced it promptly for $28. - not like SONY or APPLE which charges far more.
I'm still too busy to send in the ACER Ferrari, but the entire process will only take 2 weeks.
So, I'm very sad to hear that your ACER is failing, and that ACER is not covering you. I hope that my good experiences will offset your bad ones. If you ever buy an ACER, know that the company strongly stands behind it's warranties....the non-misunderstood ones....I sincerely hope ACER comes to an agreement with you.
I’m Very Satisfied.

Inappropriate?Hey guys, thanks very much for your responses! A long time has elapsed since my issues and I don't think that Acer will listen to me now... but I now take every issue with warranties and failed promises to the Better Business Bureau online. They get things moving quickly and systematically - highly recommend them!
Take care,
Fernando
I’m sure that Acer will bend over to the BBB

Inappropriate?still waiting for response from Gateway regarding computer; $1800+tax down the drain? new computer lasted 2 mo - now waiting 4 mo; why? Gateway now owned by Acer

Inappropriate?I suggest you put a complaint on the Better Business Bureau for your state. You can usually do this online through http://www.bbbonline.org/consumer/
Good luck,

Inappropriate?I purchased an Acer Aspire One recently, and her is the review I wrote:
Pros: Small, light and looks cool. It's poor quality. I bought 3 of these, and out of the 3, 2 had warped cases. I sent one in for repair (see story below) and after what happened with that one, I asked the retailer to take the other 2 back. They made an exception and did. The one that I sent in for repair has been back to the repair center a total of 3 times already.
Cons: Mine was broken out of the box - the case was warped. I called in and the recording said to submit a request online, because it would be faster. So I did. 3 days later, I finally get a reply from my online submission informing me that I have to call in. I call in and they tell me that I have to pay to ship the unit into the repair facility. I consider simply returning the product, but the 3 days it took the online center to respond had pushed me past the 14 day return window. So I pay the money to send the product that was defective (warped case can't have been shipping damage) into the repair center. 2 weeks later I get it back, and they've replaced the warped base, and in doing so broken the top of the case so that it no longer snaps down tight. I call in again. The rep, without even waiting to see what is wrong or how he can help me, tells me he has to schedule a call back from a level 2 support rep. He is completely disinterested in helping me.
Other Thoughts: Long story short, out of the 4 people I've spoken with at Acer (2 of which were supervisors), NONE of them had any interest in helping me. BOTH "supervisors" treated me as if it were MY fault they'd shipped a defective product, and that it was my fault that their repair depot had broken it when I sent it in. I've paid $350 for Acer to NOT be able to use my Aspire One for the first 6 weeks I've had it, and I had to pay shipping the first time, and then repack it myself and take an hour of my time to run it down to FedEx the second time. No offer of extending the warranty, or any offer of compensation for my time and money I've wasted on this low quality company and low quality product. Buy the Asus - Acer doesn't want you as a customer. Executive customer service(!) told me that even though I was without my brand new unit for 2 months, they had met all their obligations now that the unit was repaired, and offered nothing to make up for the time, effort, annoyance and shipping cost.
I’m never buying Acer again.

Inappropriate?Fernando, Did you buy the warranty from acer or sams club? I have 2 acer laptops and I have very good experience with them. They always fix/replace parts in time and return the product in a week or less. I also got screwed on one as i had purchased extended warranty on one of the laptop from staples and i realized it was not acers warranty.. it was staples warranty! naturally acer wont honor the one sold by staples as it was staples who took the money and i was suppose to contact staples for the problem - staples never solved any problem they dint even want to take the laptop in for service... on my 2nd laptop i dint buy warranty from store... i registered my product online n bought the warranty from acer directly and that was the best thing i have done... in last 2 yrs they have replaced my hard drive, my motherboard etc on 2 different occasions... on my other laptop i had monitor problems - dead pixels and the replaced the whole screen and it was close to my last month of warranty so they sent me a letter saying that my monitor was covered for 90 days from day of install (which was past the warranty date) and that was very nice of them... i dint have to fight or argue to get any of these repairs done... i just realized one thing NEVER BUY STORE WARRANTY - Manufacturer covers the best if you buy warranty from them and also note that first year is always covered by manufacturer...

Hi Dhaval, I did not purchase extended warranties. The original factory warranty when I bought my tablet from Sam's Club was two years. Acer contends that it is two years from the date of manufacture (which had been one year earlier) and not two years from the date of purchase. Does this sound unbelievable??
On those grounds, Acer refused to honor the warranty for the second year that I had it. The guy I spoke with absolutely refused to let me speak to a supervisor, and believe me, I asked nicely. I would never buy Acer again. -
Inappropriate?personally on a 2003' Travelmate 803LMi laptop I had to ask for assistance after the 1st year (video card issue), the assistence in Italy solved the problem in 21 days time period from my call to the laptop retuning back home from their labs ...
so, as often happens, YMMV
