I received some mail from AC Transit the other day. It was addressed "Resident," but was otherwise thoughtfully customized: the full-color, two-sided mailer included the route and schedule for the TransBay bus route closest to me. Also included was a four-ride ticket.
I think this is a great promotion. It feels like it was designed by somebody who studied the demographics of my neighborhood, or, heavens, might even have ridden a TransBay bus.
I created a berth for AC Transit right here on GetSatisfaction today. I went to the AC Transit Web site to find the agency's mission statement to place into the Company Description field.
The site's "Contact Us" page (http://www.actransit.org/aboutac/inde...) didn't have quite what I needed. While providing some interesting historical background, the prose doesn't have enough detail about AC Transit's areas of service.
So, I copied the first paragraph of the AC Transit entry on Wikipedia to act as Company Description. It works, but wouldn't an official version be nicer?
