"Adium is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X, released under the GNU GPL and developed by the Adium team. With Adium, you can connect to any number of messaging accounts on any combination of supported messaging services and then chat with other people using those services."
my icq account on adium can't connect! It shows an error message saying : The Client version you are using is to old. Please upgrade at http://pidgin.im/ : I visited the website but it's worthless, or I just didn't see any help there.
Surprisingly the icq account works on ichat.
Any ideas?
edit: ok it seems that this seems to be a big thing currently going on with the Icq network.
I have two contacts that I have tried deleting from my contact list over and over again and when I select remove it tells me they have been removed but when I logout of Adium and log back on they appear on my contact list. What do I do to fix this problem?
beta adium version. facebook contacts not appearing though says I am connected. appeared the first day I downloaded but the next day...nothing. tried logging off and on with adium and within facebook.
When I start my computer, the Adium dock icon does not display correctly. The dock loads with the duck with its eyes open as if I am already online, even though Adium is not even running and the duck's eyes should be closed. When I click on the icon to start Adium, the icon goes back to its normal behavior; i.e. it shuts its eyes and shows the gray spinning "connecting" square. After that the icon behaves as it should. I first encountered this problem when I updated to Adium 1.3b2 so I could use Facebook chat and the new Psychic chat windows. However, neither of those features worked for me and I also noticed that the update had broken my dock icon as described above. I then reinstalled Adium 1.2.5, which is what I'm currently running now. Reinstalling the latest stable release did not resolve the issue. Is there anything else I can try to fix the dock icon behavior?
It used to be that when you clicked on an Adium/Growl notification Adium would become the front window process, the correspondent's window would be brought to the front tab, and you could just start typing in the text field.
This is no longer the case - you have to actually click on the text field to respond.
*also* this may or may not be related - when you click on the growl notification, sometimes it takes you to the IM window, (when it's a user loggin in) sometimes it opens up a new tab for conversation, and sometimes it just closes the growl notification...
Currently using NotifyOSX, no special settings, on a 12" powerbook with Leopard.
There appears to be a problem with Address book integration. Not sure if this is a new "feature" with Leopard, but it appears that you can't combine all contacts even if they are all in your Address book under the same contact name. Only two show up.
Since upgrading to the latest version of Adium, I have had problems with my address book - I have it set so if someone on my MSN contact list is in my address book, it shows up their "real" name. This had been working from since I first started using Adium (about 2 years ago)
I had been noticing that the "real" names were not showing on my contact list last week, and clicked to add that persons details back onto their address record. This worked fine, until someone elses details had been removed.
It seems that the details for the IM address for each person is being removed from Address Book - quite annoying! Anyone else experienced this?
Well, Adium Doesn't Use the Growl, even thought it's set up too. It Could Be Growl, But Growl is working, because the preveiws for each of the Styles Do WORK.
