Adium version 1.3.2, google talk won't work
I have tried every suggestion i've found on adium forums and it doesn't solve my problem. The I've changed the port from 5222 to 5050 and it says it is connecting/initializing stream but does not completely connect, staying on 25%.

Inappropriate?I'm having the exact problem and it's frustrating me. Have you tried it with an earlier version of Adium? I've posted on the Adium forums and the Google Talk forums to see if someone else has any ideas. I can't even get Gtalk to work from within Gmail...sigh.
I’m frustrated, fed up etc.

Inappropriate?I was able to get Adium to work on my wife's Mac with Google Talk but when I loaded in on my mac it doesn't work. Damned thing won't authenticate. I also tried switching the port number but I am in the same boat. Connecting........

Inappropriate?I discovered that I had inadvertently screwed up my contacts in gmail. As you know, you have to invite people to chat with you, even other gmail/gtalk users.
After logging into gmail and using the chat interface, i realized that my google contacts were not listed, but my AIM contacts were still correct. I re-invited my gtalk friends to chat -- which google corrected without contacting them, i think -- i started Adium and my contacts popped up there.
In my case, a new smartphone and some addressbook syncs destroyed/reorganized my contacts, which were linked with my gmail. my gtalk contacts weren't properly filed and they were deleted and that screwed it all up.

This doesn't solve anything for me -
Inappropriate?Strangely, it looks that if you ad your credentials as a Jabber account it looks like it's working and when as a Google Talk service it doesn't!
I am using Adium 1.3.2 on OS X 10.5.6 btw
Will give 1.3.1. a try...

Adium 1.3.1 does not solve this... No luck so far. -
Inappropriate?Go back to 1.3.1 and skip the 1.3.2 - no other solution that I have found.

Inappropriate?I had a Jabber and GTalk account with the same credentials. In 1.3.2 I deleted both of them en re-added the GTalk account. It now appears to be solved. For now...
I’m satisfied
