How do I get different alert sounds for Adium?
The duck quack is making me angry.

Inappropriate?Adium uses "sound sets", which are like skins but for audio. They're pretty easy to add and change, though the interface on Adium's preferences are a bit confusing.
Go to this link to find a sound set you like (I'm using Wii sounds). On the upper right you'll see a box with two links: Install and Download. The easiest thing to do is just click download. After confirming that you want to open the file with another application (i.e. Adium) it will automatically install the set.
Finally, just select your new set from the dropdown menu labeled "Sound Set". To hear the sound for each action, uncollapse an event container and click a sound event inside. Here's a screenshot--you'd click the item called "Play the sound WiiMenuSelect4" to hear the effect for a message received.

Good luck! -
Inappropriate?Be sure to try the "Tokyo Train Station" soundset. Most relaxing of all...
