My Dreamweaver CS3 keeps crashing when I try to open certain coldfusion files. Is there a quick fix?

From Adobe http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewC...
Issue
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 crashes when working with certain PHP or ASP files in Code view or Design view after the clock goes back one hour, when Daylight Savings Time ends. The crashes only occur when selecting certain lines in Code view, or selecting certain objects in Design view. The crashes only occur in files that have PHP or ASP code, intermingled with HTML code. The crashes do not occur in Dreamweaver 8 or earlier (Ref. 229536).
Reason
The Dreamweaver CS3 WinFileCache-AD76BB20.dat file has been corrupted by the time change.
Solution
1. If Dreamweaver is open, quit the application.
2. Delete the WinFileCache-AD76BB20.dat file from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders. The location of this file is as follows:
* Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows Vista:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
* Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Dreamweaver 9\Configuration
3. Restart Dreamweaver.

Inappropriate?Dreamweaver CS3 keeps crashing. Am I doing something wrong or is it time for Adobe to recall Dreamweaver CS3.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I went back to using MX 2004 because of similar crashing. I don't have sophisticated needs that include ColdFusion, but CS was a big disappointment for me in general.
I’m not impressed

Inappropriate?Until last week, my Dreamweaver was working perfectly, but since then it keeps crashing without reason too. I didn't upgrad / uninstall nor install anything new, so I don't unterstand the mess...

Inappropriate?I heard that some Windows users have had problems with their clocks not matching Dreamweaver's time stamps. Any chance this could be this problem?: http://www.jasonbartholme.com/2007/11...
I’m undecided

oh yyes this definetly helped me out. thanks buddy. -
Excellent! Same thing was happening to me. Dreamweaver CS3 crashed when trying to open a lot of CFM files. It only started happening after fall daylight savings time. I deleted the file as you mentioned, and now everything works perfectly. Thanks -
This just saved me a lot of headache. I could not figure out what was going on. This fixed my issue! Thanks a bunch!! -
Just wanna drop a thanks, you did me and others a solid, here's hoping Karma is in full effect 8) -
Thank you so much for posting a solution to my problem... all that seemingly random crashing was killing me! -
You rock bro!!!!! Totally did the job. -
YOU ARE A REAL LIFE SAVER!! (I know that all caps is uncool, but I'm SHOUTING this!) Thank you. -
nice work Vetman! -
Thank YOU! I hope Adobe worked that bug out of CS4. Or maybe I should go back to Dreamweaver 8... -
Inappropriate?I tried this, and it didn't work, it seems as though my dreamweaver crashed when editing a CSS file. Any other solutions?

Inappropriate?Although it's originally for DW MX4, renaming the registry entry seemed to work for me. Solution is here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewC...

Inappropriate?Heloo guys, i just downloaded the trial for dreamweaver cs3 installed it but it wont start, it goes as far as initializing files and stops..... what do i do?
-
Inappropriate?I tried to carry out the adobe fix but it seems I don't have the same file as they identify. So I could not do it. In the meantime a low tech 'fix' is after DW fire up change the date on the system clock (in my case Vista) to pre-clock change and then open a document. Go back to the clock and return the date to the real date and it works without crashing. You will see a 'do you want to reload the document warning' from DW but ignore it.
I know it is low tech my it does buy time when you are up against a deadline as I am. Hope it helps. -
Inappropriate?Googled this problem and this fix has fixed it for me! Everytime I was editing a certain ASP page which also contains CSS it was crashing and I had to debug, so frustrating. I had no idea it was related to daylight saving clock settings!! thats a bit random. Thanks for the fix though, worked a treat. xx
I’m Thankful
-
Inappropriate?Thank you!!! This fix is one of the first easy fixes that worked on any piece of software I use... God knows why it's set up like that though.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Well, Carl and Laura didn't include which method worked for them. Nor did they provide any extra info or incite that might have helped. Which one worked? I tried the one provided by spud, and it didn't work. Perhaps I did it wrong, it was slightly confusing.
I’m Confused
-
Inappropriate?Well, I went ahead to try the other methods, and Vetman was the winner in my case. No additional info is needed. Although, I would advise instead of "deleting" the file, to "move" the file elsewhere; for safe keeping purposes.
I’m Thankful for Vetman.
-
Inappropriate?Sorry! Vetman's help fixed my problem both on a Windows XP PC and a Windows Vista PC. I dont really know anything else I can add except I just deleted the file because it comes back again when you close down Dreamweaver, well did in my case. Hope this helps xx
-
Inappropriate?Vetman's fix worked for me initially but then I started having problems again yesterday. However, I noticed that my problems started again yesterday when I used our company VPN client from home. Anyone else had that type of problem?
-
Inappropriate?OMG!!! This trick worked. I don't know how you figured that out but you're a genious! Thanks!
I’m So happy!
