Happy Linux User
I would just like to show my appreciation to Adobe for finally adding support for Linux and x64. Hopefully in the future we can see support from more of Adobe's products.

Inappropriate?you must be joking, that could never happen. i would be extremely content if it did. of course, in my mind thats never going to happen. maybe i really do need to adjust my expectation of reality.
I’m OMG'ed
-
what program exactly is going linux? the entire C$4 master collection? -
Flash Player 10. -
Well that doesn't sound very exiting... -
I'm sure a big motivating factor is Silverlight and Moonlight. -
Inappropriate?Problem on Linux is that you have a very "free" community. We (even if I use Mac, I'm also a Tux!) don't like paying, we like clicking the apps we like to install and get downloaded + installed from internet for free...
Linux is small and scary territory for businessmen! -
i hate it when people put Macs and linux on the same sentence. linux is the pinnacle of openness and a contributory community effort. mac is made by apple, the most evil, secretative, closed source, closed architechture, closed enviroment, anti competition computer company in a while. they don't MIX. sure macs are built on bsd, its not linux. -
Inappropriate?Oldarney, you missed ArtPulse's point. "Mac" promotes propietary software thus business minded programmers/companies are more attracted to it. It's a little harder for Linux, being a platform that features mostly free software and people have become used to getting what they want free-of-charge.
-
apple = root of all evil, makes you pay, closed & secretative business model. Linux = heaven, everything is free, everything is as open as can be. microsoft = middle ground, pay when necessary, loose architecture. -
Inappropriate?I don't see why we should hate being charged by Software. All this wouldn't exist after all if wasn't a business! And the only reason Linux is still behind on great 3rd party apps is because there's no business in Tux yet.
Windows is dead, the future is Linux and Mac...
I'm a web designer. I wouldn't like people to demand me to do websites for free, I like to earn money with what I do, not do it 100% for love to art =P.
Since I'm not a programmer... I don't really care it's open source or not. I like the fact I'm running the most advanced OS ever: Mac OS X Leopard (no, really, it's insanely great!).
=) -
Speak for yourself, i have to use it at least 3 times a week. For the power user, for the real developers, for the IT, OSX is a nightmare. and btw you are a programer, and by the very nature of the web, every one of your websites that go online is open source, with the exemption of server side stuff, which brings you back to programing (web services).
can we stop arguing about OS's this topic is about linux, not mac or windows. -
Agreed, this is not the place to debate about OS's.
