iPhoto 09 Faces and Lightroom
Is it possible to use iPhoto FACES metadata with Lightroom? If not, Lightroom needs a FACES feature of its own!

Inappropriate?I haven't used iPhoto 09 myself so this is an educated guess: LR will not use faces-metadata because I assume iPhoto is storing the face-info in an proprietary fasion. There are no XMP/IPTC fields for person names, so I guess iPhoto is just storing the information in the database.
I agree that the feature looks handy, but you get close to the same functionality in LR using keywords. -
Inappropriate?Faces uses a proprietary format and Lightroom cannot access it. We are investigating various features (including face recognition) for future releases.

Inappropriate?Since Adobe and XMP goes hand in hand, please consider making face-information a part of the XMP standard!

Inappropriate?Ideally, I'd rather see Adobe invest in connecting to iPhoto, not reproduce the functionality of it. I use lightroom as the photographer in the house, but my wife uses iPhoto to find photos to share/print, etc.. I can't justify the cost of LR for each of our computers, but I don't want my iphoto or LR data to be an island.

I'm just trying Picasa to add Face Tags to my Lightroom Library. It's still a lot of work, but much less than tagging 18.000 photos manually...
I’m unconcerned
