Jason Ray (JDizzle) - Aftershock Official Response
To the Mafia LIVE! Community:
A tragedy happened in the Mafia LIVE! community about 2 weeks ago.
One of the top players, Jason Ray (Jdizzle), was killed in a car crash. Many threads were started about Jason, his family, and the current state of affairs.
Here are a couple frequently visited:

We were particularly touched by the kindness offered by many of the Mafia LIVE! community either assisting or donating money to the family. There were many top players who sold their accounts and donated the proceedings to help with Jason's wife Shauna and new-born daughter Hailey.
We were truly touched by the strength of character from our community.
Following in the footsteps of our players and inspired by their ideas (in a similar fashion as we do in designing our games), we were able to make some contributions to the family as well. Although we were not able to use Aftershock as a Company as a vehicle for donation, the Aftershock Team came together and made personal contributions to the trust fund.
The World today is in disarray. Financial scandals, corrupt CEOs, and unrighteous government officials constantly make us doubt human character and the intentions of others. However, the actions by our community in the past weeks made us realize that love and care in fact all around us.
We are truly blessed to be a part of such a great community.
Yours truly,
Jeff Chen and James Zhang

Inappropriate?Good on you Aftershock for taking the time and effort to show that you care!
I’m pleased

Inappropriate? So how are you going to separate those selling Mafia money for their trust fund vs trillion dollar websites even those without hacking?
Didn't want to bring an ugly topic into a commendable one. Just curious -
Your comment could make you the biggest moron out here to date. Those who sold their accounts, sold the entire account. The people who bought the account are undoubtedly playing with that account. Those who bought money from a hack site used that illicit game money to artificially enhance their in-game status. To even attempt to draw a parallel is in the very least ridiculous. -
Inappropriate?I have never seen a gaming community give so much support and help towards another player before, even crazier, a founder/s of a game showing their condolences. Not often you will see that happen...

Inappropriate?Yeah, it was really nice how so many people took the time to offer condolences, stories of jdizzle's tough play and good character; and the concerted effort on behalf of people to help his family, people who really barely knew the guy, well, it's just nice to know I'm playing with so many good natured and thoughtful folks.
And thanks/kudos to AS for your tasteful and considerate attention.
PS I wanted to contribute but didn't know where to go to do so--is there a website or something? -
You can go to your local US Bank branch and make a contribution. That's what I did. Just tell them you want to contribute to the Jason Dungan Memorial Fund. -
Inappropriate?I am very impressed with you Aftershock, kudos to you for showing you care!
You will be missed Jason! -
Inappropriate?Wow. Not very often that a company actually takes the time to comment on something like this. Way to go AS. RIP Jdizz you are missed....
-
Inappropriate?AS... that's a pretty stand up thing to do. We all have our complaints about this game, but knowing that you've done something like this is beyond customer service. you've gained a loyal customer in me by your act of kindness to Jason's family.

Inappropriate? This is why I think that AS is the best game developer going they show care for their players like no other. Keep up the good work. I would also like to say that AS really does try to make this a top teir game and I will support every game they make for the iPod. R.I.P Jdizzle my best wishes to his family in this truely terrible time. 495 349 972
