For me, AideRSS is fubar. Not ready for Firefox 3. Last reply on April 25, 2008 17:07.
Well, after a bunch of changes, 2 or 3 invites, extension and greasemonkey script installations, re-installations, I have given up. No I will not use Firefox 2, no I don't want anymore invites. I am using Firefox 3 now.
Never have I seen a more complicated software installation process.
After receiving another invite via e-mail I did a fresh install of the extension. It did not work. Then I tried to install the greasemonkey script and my browser froze. When I restarted and navigated to Google Reader all I got was the orange drop-down menu. It does nothing. I chose individual feeds and all that. Nothing.
To be honest, this takes an extraordinary amount of patience even to try to tolerate this bugginess. This should have been labeled as Pre-Alpha, use at your own risk, not ready for primetime.
I tried, very hard to get this to work and it consumed a lot of my time. I would recommend you just prominently warn Firefox 3 users that an installation this product is not to be attempted.
I will check back soon to see if any progress has been made. AideRSS looks like a very nice usefull tool. I just don't have the patience or time to fiddle with this anymore.
Good luck and look forward to using this soon. Thanks.

Why aren't the comments being included in post rank? Last reply on June 27, 2008 15:45.
Why does my feed not show the comments received by my more recent posts, when it shows my earlier ones.
It has the effect of making the top 5 very static.
Here is my feed and blog:

GreaseMonkey Incompatabilities Last reply on June 20, 2008 09:03.
Just an FYI to BETA users - there is a known possibility of there being an incompatibility with the GreaseMonkey Firefox extension. If you have GreaseMonkey installed and then install our extension - the extension may not do anything. We are actively working on a solution to this problem.
As an interim solution, we recommend disabling Greasemonkey (from Firefox add-ons dialog - *not* from GreaseMonkey settings) while using our extension.

"Uh oh, an error occured while processing your request."
http://www.aiderss.com/500.html
I'm trying to view a filtered feed, but something is broken.
For reference, this is the link I was trying to follow: http://www.aiderss.com/great/techcrun...
I'm using FireFox 3... it appears to work in Safari. Maybe a FireFox 3 incompatibility? -

AideRSS slowing down Firefox? Last reply on June 12, 2008 18:26.
Is it AideRSS that slowed down my Firefox?
I had a huge problem where when I opened Google Reader it started slowing my browsing down. To the extent that it froze my Firefox and I couldn't use it anymore. I uninstalled and now it's working fine.

AideRSS always uses main site feed instead of specified feed URL Last reply on June 12, 2008 15:46.
I would like to be able to filter specific site feed, for instance:
http://www.downloadsquad.com/category...
But when I add this feed into AideRSS, auto-discovery is performed and the main feed
from DownloadSquad front page (http://www.downloadsquad.com/rss.xml) is added instead of the specified feed.
Is there any workaround for this?

New Firefox 3 Greasemonkey Script & Plug-In for Google Reader Last reply on June 04, 2008 18:49.
Have just installed the new Greasemonkey script for Firefox 3 (and also tired the plug-in), but so far am still only getting the AideRSS pull-down menu (excellent, good, great). I'm personally running FF3 RC1 on OS X 10.5.3.
I'm assuming I should be seeing something else, correct? -

Greasemonkey script not working with google reader Last reply on June 03, 2008 19:55.
I've installed the Greasemonkey Script. It shows the Dropdown menu in my reader but for some reason it doesn't pagerank anything and if i use the dropdown menu to select an option it does nothing.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Haloscan comments not counted in PostRank? Last reply on June 03, 2008 14:35.
The Top Post widget I added to my blog has been static (no updates at all). At first, I was confused about why. Now it appears that the problem is due to aideRSS not counting Haloscan comments in the PostRank. It would be great to have a solution for those of us using Haloscan for comments. -

Why not ALL the blog posts? Last reply on May 17, 2008 13:57.
I have this BlogSpot blog and they always restrict the number of posts they give in the RSS to 25. But there is a way to get them all like this: http://myblog.blogspot.com/feeds/post... I tried it in AideRSS and it returns an error. I finally found that using 500 instead of 1000000 worked, but still it didn't import all my posts. I would love to use and promote your service, but since my best posts are older, there is no real use of displaying just the latest good reading. -

Lifehacker hasn't updated Last reply on May 13, 2008 12:43.
I noticed that the Lifehacker.com feed hasn't updated in 18 days. Is there any reason why? The site has updated every day in the timeframe. -

Great software idea, still a lot of functionalities to add. ( I know is beta :) ) Last reply on May 07, 2008 11:21.
Guys, was able to install the greasemonkey script on Portable Firefox 2.0.14 I have a lot of extensions. on my Athlon XP1800 with 1.25 GB of ram my google reader is getting slower. It seems that your alghoritm has something to do with how old is the post. Because most of the time I am getting a 1.0 score which is anoying. Also not sure if your alghorithm is able to deal with feeds in other languages than english. I am a romanian native and follow a number of romanian feeds which at world level are insignifiant but for me are very interesting. Maybe some learning options for your software (learn my habbits) would be very suitable. Looked at what I starred, shared or tag in the past and then adjust the algorithm.
For a guy who goes through more than 500 posts per day this kind of extension would be perfect if is functional. If you do not have already that info I can give you the XML with the feeds I read. -

You're holding my Google Reader account hostage. Last reply on April 29, 2008 19:55.
I read about your awesome Firefox extension that works with Google Reader. Yay!
I went to your site and installed the extension. There's a cryptic box that I have to magically guess what to enter, unless I have a couple of minutes to burn watching the instructional video. (Since when did it become ok to replace a simple text box label "Email" with a 2 minute video?) It's ok, I finally figured it out and put in my email. It claims to have done something, but check my email and I don't get anything. That's ok, though, even though I didn't get any visual indication that something changed whatsoever on your page, the Get Extension link is magically enabled.
Finally! I click it and install the extension. Excitedly, I go to Google Reader. Ha ha!, a pop up says. You can't read your feeds, you silly fool. First you have to sign up for an account with AideRSS. Hrm. Ok. So I sign up.
Ok, now I'll be able to use this functionality. Back to Google Reader, the pop up comes up again, I click to activate. Another cryptic text box with no explanation as to what I should be putting in, or where I'm supposed to get an invite key. Browsing the web for other disgruntled users--of which there are many--I learn that the last 15 minutes of my life screwing around with this thing and signing up for accounts I didn't want were all for naught. You're going to send me an invite key when you're good and goddamned ready and not a minute before.
In the meantime, I suppose it's incumbent upon me to uninstall your lame-assed extension lest it hold my Google Reader account hostage until you deign to bestow one of your invites upon me.
Now I'll tell you how I, or any other person not brain-dead, would've designed this. YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO INSTALL AN EXTENSION YOU CANNOT USE. Give me clear instructions how to request an invite, and when I get that invite, along with the invite code, give me a link to the page where I can get the extension and install it. Without the code, as I've come to realize, this whole thing is just one big masturbation session.
Thanks AideRSS! -

Lost my invite code without install? Last reply on April 26, 2008 12:57.
I clicked on the link I was sent and got the standard Firefox alert, and I added the AideRSS site to my whitelist.
However, it's not giving me the option to download the add-on again. I've reloaded the page and clicked on the email link again -- but nothing.
Does it invalidate the token after the first use? -

We've heard you -- invite tokens will die! Last reply on April 23, 2008 21:39.
As soon as we can get a new release out, we're going to remove the whole concept of invite tokens and authorization
We realize this has been a painful process for everyone and that's definitely not what we were shooting for.
More soon
