Could adjusting the filtering level be any slower? Seriously, could it? Last reply on July 03, 2008 19:27.
I would like to drastically speed up the flitering level adjustment process. There are at least three ways to do this:
#1 - Allow the user to set a default filtering level for new feeds.
#2 - When importing a block of feeds, allow the user to set a flitering level prior to the actual import process
#3 - On the "My Feeds" page, instead of dropdown lists for each feed, the page could have columns for ALL, GOOD, GREAT, and BEST and the user could check the level for each feed. This would shorten the process of click, wait for dropdown list to expand, select, repeat for each item. Alternatively (or in addition), have a global checkbox and a select action box (think of selecting a whole page of messages in gmail) -

No Change in GReader after extension install in FF3 Last reply on July 01, 2008 19:28.
i installed the googlereader firefox extension and all i see is a drop down menu for all/good/great/best and nothing else new in google reader. Am I missing something? I am using Firefox 3. I don't remember explicitly installing Greasemonkey but I don't know how to tell if it is installed or not. I am very frustrated as this extension looks like the kind that I would love and want to share with many people, but I am close to giving up on it. Help? -

For me, AideRSS is fubar. Not ready for Firefox 3. Last reply on April 25, 2008 17:07.
Well, after a bunch of changes, 2 or 3 invites, extension and greasemonkey script installations, re-installations, I have given up. No I will not use Firefox 2, no I don't want anymore invites. I am using Firefox 3 now.
Never have I seen a more complicated software installation process.
After receiving another invite via e-mail I did a fresh install of the extension. It did not work. Then I tried to install the greasemonkey script and my browser froze. When I restarted and navigated to Google Reader all I got was the orange drop-down menu. It does nothing. I chose individual feeds and all that. Nothing.
To be honest, this takes an extraordinary amount of patience even to try to tolerate this bugginess. This should have been labeled as Pre-Alpha, use at your own risk, not ready for primetime.
I tried, very hard to get this to work and it consumed a lot of my time. I would recommend you just prominently warn Firefox 3 users that an installation this product is not to be attempted.
I will check back soon to see if any progress has been made. AideRSS looks like a very nice usefull tool. I just don't have the patience or time to fiddle with this anymore.
Good luck and look forward to using this soon. Thanks.

Why aren't the comments being included in post rank? Last reply on June 27, 2008 15:45.
Why does my feed not show the comments received by my more recent posts, when it shows my earlier ones.
It has the effect of making the top 5 very static.
Here is my feed and blog:

GreaseMonkey Incompatabilities Last reply on June 20, 2008 09:03.
Just an FYI to BETA users - there is a known possibility of there being an incompatibility with the GreaseMonkey Firefox extension. If you have GreaseMonkey installed and then install our extension - the extension may not do anything. We are actively working on a solution to this problem.
As an interim solution, we recommend disabling Greasemonkey (from Firefox add-ons dialog - *not* from GreaseMonkey settings) while using our extension.

I'm trying to view a filtered feed, but something is broken.
For reference, this is the link I was trying to follow: http://www.aiderss.com/great/techcrun...
I'm using FireFox 3... it appears to work in Safari. Maybe a FireFox 3 incompatibility? -

filtering "best" items can be really slow sometimes Last reply on June 24, 2008 06:27.
initial loading of all items is pretty fast
but once everything is loaded and has ranks, shouldn't filtering "best" items just collapse lower values immediately
isn't loading already done?
why does it need to load anymore?
if I have 200+ items loaded, even if they have scores already, clicking "best" makes firefox go wacky
(using your beta for ff3)
thanks for this extension
it's the greatest time-saver -

all items 1.0 (except a very few 10s) Last reply on June 21, 2008 22:58.
I have installed the Reader extension, but all ranked items are "1.0" or, rarely, "10"... let me know if you'd like any more info. Thanks in advance.
update - I finally ran into some items ranked with other numbers, from Lifehacker and Huffington Post, and more than a few hours old. User error on my part? -

How long between feed updates? Last reply on June 18, 2008 20:54.
I just created a new feed and it's wonderful! I'm very impressed with the service. However, it was "last updated" 4 hours ago and I was hoping it would stay closer to real-time (within an hour or so).
Is there a setting for this? If not, what is the average amount of time between updates so I can decide if this will work for me or not?
Thanks! -

Problem with Feedburner feeds Last reply on June 16, 2008 20:45.
I'm having trouble with feeds that are delivered through feedburner. They show properly on the AideRSS site but when I subscribe in Google Reader the feed gives an "invalid Request" error message.

AideRSS slowing down Firefox? Last reply on June 12, 2008 18:26.
Is it AideRSS that slowed down my Firefox?
I had a huge problem where when I opened Google Reader it started slowing my browsing down. To the extent that it froze my Firefox and I couldn't use it anymore. I uninstalled and now it's working fine.

AideRSS always uses main site feed instead of specified feed URL Last reply on June 12, 2008 15:46.
I would like to be able to filter specific site feed, for instance:
http://www.downloadsquad.com/category...
But when I add this feed into AideRSS, auto-discovery is performed and the main feed
from DownloadSquad front page (http://www.downloadsquad.com/rss.xml) is added instead of the specified feed.
Is there any workaround for this?

Ability to specify an original feed URL? Last reply on June 11, 2008 13:50.
I'm using Yahoo Pipes primarily to combine RSS feeds and filter out some content (eg: sponsored posts from the Gawker Media family, idiotic posts about 'too much packaging' from the Consumerist, and a Digg Stupidity Filter that's self-explanatory.) I do this because a few regular expressions help save me from the inanity of the Internet every day. When I use these custom feeds with AideRSS, all posts are ranked as a 1.0 - which seems reasonable now that I've figured out why it's happening.
I was wondering if there was a tag I could use or deploy when utilizing a custom feed to specify the original feed's URL, since all that's changing from the original content is the source URL and the number of posts. I'm pretty sure Pipes lets me add custom XML attributes and it would be really handy if AideRSS could pick this up, and assign the appropriate rating to each piece of content.
I know some of my combined feeds might be a problem to parse (Engadget Uniques, for example, takes Engadget+Engadget HD+Engadget Mobile posts and runs a unique title filter on them) but the filtered feeds should only need to have a different source set.
Even at worst, I wouldn't be too adverse to plugging in the original URL somewhere on the AideRSS site under my account. I was slightly confused with the Google Reader extension - apparently it doesn't exactly tie into your personal account at AideRSS.com?
Cheers,
Jake -

Flickr + Postrank Last reply on June 10, 2008 22:28.
Could you include flickr favorites and inclusion into groups in postrank? This would specially come in handy in order to determine the best recent photos from groups.
