For me, AideRSS is fubar. Not ready for Firefox 3. Last reply on July 05, 2008 15:59.

Well, after a bunch of changes, 2 or 3 invites, extension and greasemonkey script installations, re-installations, I have given up. No I will not use Firefox 2, no I don't want anymore invites. I am using Firefox 3 now.

Never have I seen a more complicated software installation process.

After receiving another invite via e-mail I did a fresh install of the extension. It did not work. Then I tried to install the greasemonkey script and my browser froze. When I restarted and navigated to Google Reader all I got was the orange drop-down menu. It does nothing. I chose individual feeds and all that. Nothing.

To be honest, this takes an extraordinary amount of patience even to try to tolerate this bugginess. This should have been labeled as Pre-Alpha, use at your own risk, not ready for primetime.

I tried, very hard to get this to work and it consumed a lot of my time. I would recommend you just prominently warn Firefox 3 users that an installation this product is not to be attempted.

I will check back soon to see if any progress has been made. AideRSS looks like a very nice usefull tool. I just don't have the patience or time to fiddle with this anymore.

Good luck and look forward to using this soon. Thanks.

No Change in GReader after extension install in FF3 Last reply on July 01, 2008 19:28.

i installed the googlereader firefox extension and all i see is a drop down menu for all/good/great/best and nothing else new in google reader. Am I missing something? I am using Firefox 3. I don't remember explicitly installing Greasemonkey but I don't know how to tell if it is installed or not. I am very frustrated as this extension looks like the kind that I would love and want to share with many people, but I am close to giving up on it. Help?

all items 1.0 (except a very few 10s) Last reply on June 21, 2008 22:58.

I have installed the Reader extension, but all ranked items are "1.0" or, rarely, "10"... let me know if you'd like any more info. Thanks in advance.

update - I finally ran into some items ranked with other numbers, from Lifehacker and Huffington Post, and more than a few hours old. User error on my part?

AideRSS slowing down Firefox? Last reply on June 12, 2008 18:26.

Is it AideRSS that slowed down my Firefox?
I had a huge problem where when I opened Google Reader it started slowing my browsing down. To the extent that it froze my Firefox and I couldn't use it anymore. I uninstalled and now it's working fine.

New Firefox 3 Greasemonkey Script & Plug-In for Google Reader Last reply on June 04, 2008 18:49.

Have just installed the new Greasemonkey script for Firefox 3 (and also tired the plug-in), but so far am still only getting the AideRSS pull-down menu (excellent, good, great). I'm personally running FF3 RC1 on OS X 10.5.3.

I'm assuming I should be seeing something else, correct?

Greasemonkey script not working with google reader Last reply on June 03, 2008 19:55.

I've installed the Greasemonkey Script. It shows the Dropdown menu in my reader but for some reason it doesn't pagerank anything and if i use the dropdown menu to select an option it does nothing.

Any ideas how to fix this?

I couldn't install since Firefox prevents the extension although the domain added to Allow List. Last reply on May 18, 2008 14:39.

You have sent me the link for installing extension and I clicked on it, traditional "Firefox prevented bla bla..." thing came out. So I have added "gr.aiderss.com" to Firefox's allowed sources list. However, Firefox is still preventing it although I have added it to "Allow List" and checked out several times. I know that if there would be a link on the page directly to the extension file, this wouldn't happen.

What can I do now to install it?

Wow, I really love it! Last reply on May 11, 2008 13:20.

I've had AideRSS in my Starred Items for a couple of weeks now. I've been thinking it over, because I really am a thorough person... I like to read all the posts in most of my feeds. But I was starting to feel overwhelmed by a few feeds... I found myself "marking all as read" for them, but I didn't want to unsubscribe completely because I do like them. I just started using AideRSS tonight and it's great! I'm not so overwhelmed anymore and I still get to enjoy the feeds. Thanks!!

Lost my invite code without install? Last reply on April 26, 2008 12:57.

I clicked on the link I was sent and got the standard Firefox alert, and I added the AideRSS site to my whitelist.

However, it's not giving me the option to download the add-on again. I've reloaded the page and clicked on the email link again -- but nothing.

Does it invalidate the token after the first use?

It would be great to be able to sort by PostRank in Google Reader

First thoughts Last reply on April 09, 2008 19:50.

First off: Great responsiveness on the API token removal. Thanks!
    Second, Feedback:
    1) Not having Greasemonkey is a deal-breaker. (I'm not the first to say it, but it's true).
    2) The thing is slow in calculating post-rank for posts it presumable has never seen. Slow enough that it does not yet save time for me in Google Reader.
    3) You're overall idea is excellent
    4) What I'd like to see: Have a personal component to ranking. I.e. Every time I star a post in google reader, share a post in google reader, actually read a post in google reader, click through to the post in google reader, take note. You can use those for your post ranking, if you'd like. Then: integrate stats from this with the Google Reader Trends page. Give me stats on my different feeds based on the actions i've mentioned. This would greatly help me in feed managment decisions. Feeds that I've had for a while and have never received such a positive action (or few) would become candidates for deletion. Feeds which have a high number of such actions would be candidates for promotion to a higher priority folder. (I have various levels).
    5) Thx for your work. RSS feed/post prioritization tools are desperately needed.

Make it by work when viewing by tag Last reply on April 16, 2008 18:12.

I'd like the extension to work with tags (or All Items, I suppose) because I have a lot of feeds that I read and by tag is the only reasonable way to read it all. As it is now aideRSS isn't something I'll ever see or use.

PostRank Availablity on All Items Last reply on April 02, 2008 14:38.

Is it intended that the postrank not appear when viewing All Items in Google Reader? It only seems to be available when I look at a specific feed. That is less useful to me because I, personally, prefer to go through all of my feeds at once.
