filtering "best" items can be really slow sometimes
initial loading of all items is pretty fast
but once everything is loaded and has ranks, shouldn't filtering "best" items just collapse lower values immediately
isn't loading already done?
why does it need to load anymore?
if I have 200+ items loaded, even if they have scores already, clicking "best" makes firefox go wacky
(using your beta for ff3)
thanks for this extension
it's the greatest time-saver

Inappropriate? So you load everything in a differently filtered view (say "All", which is default), and then when you change the filter level to "Best", it takes a long time to re-load just the best posts?
By "wacky", does other weird stuff happen? (If so, please elaborate.) Are the rankings correct that appear after you change to "Best", or are you seeing posts with rankings below about 6.5?
I’m intriged

Inappropriate?when you have a lot of items (200), getting "best" items can take a while
what makes it even longer is that you can't cancel the fetching of "best" items
http://i28.tinypic.com/2l9h99k.png
pic shows what happens if I click "all" after pressing "best"
clicking "all" does nothing
have to wait for all "best" items to be gathered completely before you can switch back to "all"
once you do switch back to "all," it reloads the 200 items all over again
just wish collapse/expansion were a bit faster, considering all scores of the 200 items were already known
don't want it to search for scores again
it's nothing serious

Inappropriate? The delay may vary depending on how far down we have to reach to retrieve the 'best' posts. When we initially load the values, we only load enough to fit your screen, and prefetch others as you start scrolling - hence if there are only a few items that go into 'best', we'll have to start fetching more data.
Having said that, you shouldn't be seeing the background color bug, so there is a chance that something else is happening in this case - we're looking into it! -
Inappropriate?cool
thanks for responding
I'll just clarify a bit one last time
60 items - wait several seconds, and the scores will load - pagedown
100 items - wait several seconds, and then the 40 additional scores will load - pagedown
140 items - wait several seconds, and then the 40 additional scores will load - pagedown
etc ...
420 items - wait several seconds - all 420 items have scores, and everything is peaceful
as soon as I press "best," all hell breaks loose
I don't feel like anything else needs to be loaded
there shouldn't be any searching for the "best" items, since "best" is a subset of "all," and all the scores have already been listed
