Airset email delayed/blocked in Yahoo - others too?
For the past several days, calendar reminders and calendar summaries are arriving late to our email accounts. It looks like notices are delayed anywhere from one to three days. We are not seeing any similar behavior with other email messages coming through our Yahoo Small Business acct, and now that I have come across Izabella's post, I understand this is a Yahoo issue. I have spoken to Yahoo about it, and have asked for their help. They sent me to: Yahoo! Mail Delivery Issues Form, which doesn't look like a terribly effective way to get quick action on this problem, and I hope that Airset has escalated way beyond the submission of this form.
Our business depends on clients being reminded to show up at the appointed times, so this is an issue of critical importance to us!
What is the status of Airset's discussions with Yahoo?
When will this problem be resolved?
Are there other ISPs that have similarly black/grey listed Airset?

Inappropriate? We discovered this problem a couple of days ago. Apparently starting last Thursday, Yahoo (whose servers were accepting our emails just fine for 5 years) decided to change their policy and started blocking our emails. They have not been very responsive to our efforts to cure the problem. We received one very cryptic response from a contact in their email group. We have tried to get clarification but have not yet heard back from them. We are working to cure what we thought was their objection (currently we don't automatically delete accounts that yahoo bounces as non-existent email addresses - so for example, if an AirSet group member deleted their yahoo email account but not their AirSet account, AirSet will keep trying to send a daily schedule summary to the now non-existent yahoo email account and yahoo will give send back a "bounce" message, after this happens a few times, apparently they start to think we are a spam service and start blocking email from our mail server.
So we are working as quickly as we can to cure this problem on our end. In the meantime, we changed the router/ip address through which we are sending email and mail has started to be delivered to Yahoo users again, which is why everyone with a Yahoo email account has started to see some 2 and 3 day old messages, they were sitting in the outgoing queue and when we changed to a non-blocked server they started to be accepted. Since we aren't really sure why we were blocked in the first place, we can't be certain that this ip address won't get blocked in time. Believe me, we are working as hard as we can to get this resolved but we will need Yahoo to start answering our questions so we know what they want us to do. It would help to have AirSet users who have yahoo email accounts send feedback to Yahoo that we are indeed a legitimate service and not some spammer trying to sell viagra :-) and to please work with us to resolve the problem. -
Thank you for this comprehensive reply. Although it still doesn't solve the problem, it does give me some reassurance about continued use of Airset. I will pass my comments along to Yahoo. -
Update-- Here is the text of feedback I have sent to Yahoo:
Comments: Starting around Thursday of last week, Yahoo was blocking emails sent from the calendaring/cloud computing system I use to operate my business. To see a description of the problem, and understand the perspective at Airset, please look at the following link:
http://getsatisfaction.com/airset/top...
Please work with Airset to prevent blockage of Airset originated messages, and let me know the progress of those communications.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Since Yahoo had decided to limit the number of characters in their messages sent by the Yahoo calendar, I started using AirSet for all my repeating messages, and now mine are blocked also. It would be nice for Yahoo to fix this. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one.

Inappropriate? No, as of today, August 19, I have two Yahoo Groups and none of my AirSet notices get through. Very frustrating.

Inappropriate?Hi sorry for the trouble. . here is what happened (as stated by on of our engineers in another thread)
"I think the WebMail issue yesterday was someething internal to the AirSet servers. Sometime in the afternoon there was a problem on some of our servers with feedback email and webmail to AirSet groups. I got it working again last night, but that was probably why the WebMail was lost. Sorry for the problem" -
Inappropriate? The problem with Yahoo has been solved, and Yahoo has said they will not delay or block AirSet email and more.

Inappropriate?I had an AirSet reminder set to post onto my Yahoo Group for today, and it did not post, so something is still amiss. Any suggestions?
I’m confused

Inappropriate?I created a new Yahoo Group and tested sending mail from AirSet and it was sent to the group successfully.
Will you check the settings of your Yahoo Groups if it could receive mails from a non-member, eg. "airset-email@airset.com" or any other possible senders?

Inappropriate?Thank you for your suggestion. I changed my group settings so that anyone could post a message, and made all messages moderated, with spam filter on. Sadly none of the messages from AirSet are going though. None are pending and none are in the spam folder. Please advise. Thank you.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Hi Janet,
I wish that I had an answer for your dilemma, but since my interaction with Yahoo is limited to being a member of a Yahoo group, rather than an administrator, I am not in a position to be able to duplicate your problem.
It sounds like that you are sending messages to your Yahoo group via AirSet. I am unsure of the benefit of using AirSet messaging in this manner. There must be some benefit that I am overlooking. Why are you using AirSet and Yahoo in this way? Does Yahoo have some feature(s) that are not available in AirSet?
I am not trying to pry, but if there is something to learn, I'm all ears.
Thanks,
Jim
