Can't get AirSet and Outlook to synch
I had Airset Synch with Outlook running successfully. After re-installing the machine and re-installing Airset Desktop Synch with the same settings I am no longer managing to get any appointments back and forth. Neither the ones I create in Outlook - nor the ones I create on the AirSet website. I noticed that when I start the synch withou Outlook being open I get an error message from Desktop Synch (Outlook encountered an error trying to read a folder. Please check your folder settings). My PST files carry a password (which they did before, too). When I open Outlook - I don't get the error message... and the synch runs...
A few years ago there was a log file that could be created by the synch - is that option still there?
Thanks for your help!

Inappropriate?@Holger,
Yes, the option to create a sync log still exists - you can find the instructions here, in the AirSet User manual:
Creating a Sync Log -
Inappropriate?Jim - thanks. I ran the Synch with the log - no error messages. I was hoping to be able to find out in which Web Computer's Calendar the appointments are put into -but can't decipher the log for that. My problem is that I can't find Outlook created appointments.
I have created 4 new appointments - each with different categories - or default category. None shows up in the web computers of the user. Even when I go for the option 'all web computers' these appointments do not show up...
Thanks for your help!

Inappropriate?Well, it's good news that there are no errors !
Desktop Sync will, by default, add new events to the user's Personal Web Computer. There is an option in the Desktop Sync Client Setup to select another web computer, but Personal is the default.
The sync client uses the Category field to store the name of the Web Computer where the event belongs, in square brackets (like "[Personal]").
I will check with our Sync engineer to see if he has any ideas to explain the mysterious disappearance of your events.
We might make a bit more progress on the issue if you send some Feedback email, so that we can look up your account and check our sync logs for anomalies.
To send feedback, sign into AirSet and choose "Start -> Help and Support -> Feedback" -

I asked our sync engineer, and he had these suggestions.
1) Verify the Outlook folder being synced
2) Verify the correct AirSet user's credentials have been specified
3) Step through sync setup to see what default group is selected as the destination for new events
4) Send us a comment via Feedback so we can identify the account and take a look to see what the server has to say about the syncs
If you are still having problems, be sure to send in some feedback so we can get to the bottom of it ! -
Inappropriate?@Jim,
thanks for your help.
Ad1 - I have indeed multiple Outlook PST files - and wasn't and tried both - but still no luck. I noticed that both run in your synch in "QuickSynch" mode - is there a 'initial load' or something else mode?
Ad2 - I think so - no error messages going through setup and I can login also on the web with these.
Ad3 - I am synching to 'Personal'. I tried and played with the three options - but no luck.
Some background: I had to re-install this machine a bunch of times. I got the Calendar information back from a saved PST file. Also use Categories to synch into the different WebComputers. This has worked on other machines smoothely - but not on this one.
Where is the feedback link?
Thanks for your help,
regards,
Holger
I’m hopeful we find a solution!

Feedback is accessible via the Start Menu. Click on "Help and Support -> Feedback". -
Inappropriate?I found the issue. I don't keep the Outlook Folders in the Outlook default directory - where some default files and the active Archive file were. In the Synch setup I could choose from three different contact / calendar options- the archive and 2 outlook psts... non were the right ones.
Needless to say the user was using a different Outlook PST file - therefore nothing synched.
After closing all other PST folders from the Outlook menu and then running the Airset Synch Setup the program only found one PST file - the right one. Afterwards I was able to re-open other PST files in Outlook AND have the synch still working.
I am guessing something is not 100% clean in the Airset Synch Setup's Lookup tool for PST folders.
I’m happy. Problem Solved!
