Playlist widget and website fidget
We add a weekly audio file to our playlist which is to be available on our website for folks who don't make it to church on Sundays. The problem is that when I add the latest file and put at the top of the list, when you try to listen to it from the website, the new file doesn't play. The new file name appears, but when yo click it, the second file on the list plays. The first two filenames on the list play the second file. I've had this problem a couple of times, got around it somehow, but can't remember what the magic formula is to make sure the widget plays the proper file. Both the playlist and the file are marked public and the problem doesn't appear within the playlist ap, or the web publish ap, only when the playlist is published on the site. Sounds like an issue in the widget or am I missing a step somewhere?

Inappropriate? It sounds like the new audio file won't play, and the playlist moves on to the second audio file. I will go try to reproduce the problem, but it might be something peculiar to your situation. If this is a public website, can you pass on the URL (via feedback, if you prefer) so I can run a few tests on it? Thanks...

That's what it sounded like to me, too. I suspected that the file needed to be changed to public, but everything that can be set to public is, the playlist, the file, and the music folder. The URL is http://macarthurchristian.com. It's set to auto-play.It redirects to AirSet. Click on "Learning & Growing." Thanks for helping me pursue this. -
Inappropriate?Hi, I tried the page you mention, and my player seemed to play the right files, e.g. the first one, or the second one if I selected it, with the various browser combinations I tried -- I'm wondering if there's a problem with a specific media player? Perhaps you can right-click on the player and look for an "About..." menu item that might give some info about what you are using.
My specific results, and test versions:
Go to page, or select 1st item, get: "Now I know that after the last few weeks..."
Select 2nd item, get: "So, if you would open your bibles to Matthew 28"
Select 1st item, then fast forward: get 2nd item

I checked the player as you suggested and Windows media player version 11 comes up. Have there been problems with the newer release? My default player is RealPlayer, but that's not what comes up when I click "About" on the Airset web page. I'm using the default player settings. I use Firefox 3.5 running on Vista. I'm encouraged that the problem appears to be local, but I suppose there could be others having problems, too, depending on their configuration. Thanks for walking me through this. -
Inappropriate?OK, the problem seems to have resolved itself. The only thing different is an update of to the most recent release of RealPlayer (and it's FireFox add-on in the process). I'm a little mystified that should change anything since the player on the Airset site is Windows MP11. Not that I'm complaining, but I am mystified.

Inappropriate?I also installed WMP 11 and RealPlayer, and but IE8 and FF3 continued to work fine on your page (as I guess it does for you now as well?). So I too am mystified -- let me know if the problem recurs, thanks...
