Syncing Outlook Categories and Airset Tags for Contacts
I use the categories for my outlook contacts to group contacts into different groups. This is similar to the tags in Airset. In the old version I was able to have these sync together. With the new version it does not.
I use the categories in outlook for contacts to track who I send "Holiday Cards" to or not. That way I can pull contacts with this tag. I also have categories in outlook for "Archive" (contacts that are old), "Personal" for personal friends that don't get holiday cards, "Business" for business contacts, etc..
Can I use the desktop sync to transfer this information to Airset and vice versa from Airset to Outlook?

Inappropriate? It does (sort of) transfer tags and categories. I can get it to add new tags from categories in outlook and I can get new categories from tags in AirSet. What I can't get is for the tag or category to be removed from the other application when it is removed from either application.
This needs work.

Inappropriate? So do we know if this feature is even available in the Desktop Sync? Or is it a bug? Also, can you sync user defined fields?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? What I described above is how I am able to get this feature to work in desktop sync...so, yes, it is available. However, since it will not remove categories from either application, it is crippled, at best. This needs to be fixed.
I was told that the user defined fields would sync after the update. Unfortunately, this is now worse than it was, since before it would sync initially, but would not update after the initial syncing. Now, user defined fields do not sync at all. This needs to be fixed.
Contacts is a very disappointing area of the new update.
I’m keeping a stiff upper lip when talking about the contacts app

Inappropriate?I've just verified what Jim reported (thanks, Jim) - new categories added on one side will show up on the other, but deletions don't work correctly.
I've entered a bug in our tracking system for it - sorry for the glitch! -
Inappropriate? That's good. Do you have an ETA on how long it would take for the end-user to see this fixed? This would need to be a fix in the Airset Desktop Sync client correct? Or can it be fixed without us having to download a new client?
I’m hopeful that it will be fixed soon!

Sorry about the delayed response. I'm sorry to say the situation with Contacts hasn't changed, and I can't give you and ETA for when we will be able to work on it.
At present we are focused on improvements to the user experience, server performance, and supporting native sync solutions to smart phones. We have talked about the needs of the Contacts application, and hope to assign resources to it soon.
