Are their any plans for an Amtrak Twitter?
It would be a great way for users to learn about delays, cancellations, special trains, promotions, management decisions, etc!

Thank you for contacting us.
Our promotions are dictated by our ridership, therefore we have no way of predicting when or if a promotion will be available. However, we do offer everyday discounts to members of AAA, Student Advantage, Veteran's Advantage, seniors, children, and active military personnel. We also have promotional discounts advertised nationally throughout the year.
Please browse the Hot Deals section of Amtrak.com for more information on special offers. In the Hot Deals section, you'll find 'Weekly Specials' (formerly Rail Sale). Discounted tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we offer them only to our online customers. With Weekly Specials online discounts you can save up to 70% off the regular coach fare on selected Amtrak routes.
To find the arrival or departure status of a train, go to the Amtrak.com home page at www.amtrak.com. On the lower part of the page, you will see a section called 'Train Status.'
From here you can check on the status of any train by entering the departure and arrival stations (a list of station abbreviations can be found by clicking the 'Stations List' next to the departure and arrival fields), and / or the train number, and the date.
If you are on the go and unable to access the Internet, train arrival information can also be obtained through our automated telephone attendant "Julie" at 1-800-USA-RAIL (800-872-7245).
We hope this information is helpful.
Sincerely,
John

Dear John,
You seem to have missed the point of my email (as Amtrak frequently does). My question was "Are there any plans for an Amtrak Twitter?" I know how to use the internet, find Amtrak's current promotions and train status. I ride Amtrak all the time. The idea was to take advantage of a free tool to bring quick messages (on a variety of subjects) to Amtrak passengers. People like to feel like they are connected.
I am looking forward to your reply.
