Is the Ann Arbor Farmer's Market enforcing rules that require farmers to be the producers of the goods that they sell?
Richard Andres has raised questions about some vendors selling goods they did not produce. I'll be looking for other city representatives to login in and respond to this question.

Inappropriate? There was an allegation on arbor update of a vendor who brought peaches and pineapples to market, still with stickers on them from the place they bought them; it's unconfirmed.

Inappropriate?Dr Ron, I asked you to look into this problem a few years ago when you were on City Council. I have even brought this up as an official complaint to the Market Manager, Mollie Notarianni, to the Market Commission, and to Community Services Administrator Jayne Miller. All have refused to do ANYTHING about it. My contention was that Kapnick's Orchards does not make the baked goods they sell at the market, and has been verified by the City's inspector Matt Demmon. See the November, 2009 issue of Current magazine, which details more of my allegations.
There are also indications that J&T Gracia and Island Farms are either improperly licensed by the MI Depat of Agriculture, or they are not growing their perennials or having them inspected properly. A subsequent complaint to Mollie resulted in nothing being done about this issue, and a refusal to investigate further.
