I cannot add a printer.
How do I add my printer when the + doesn't work - no printer option to select
When I attempt to open printer setup utility, it flashes in the toolbar but doesn't stay and under no circumstance will it open.
How do I solve this problem?
Why is Apple truly better than Microsoft? Smart answers here please, folks, none of the "BECAUSE IT IS, LOL!". What makes Apple the company it is today and what makes Microsoft so "bad" and Apple so "good"? All the answers I've ever heard on the internet were Apple and Microsoft fan boys screaming in all caps trying to win by volume rather than reason.
What's your take?
Edit: I know I posted this previously, but I worded the title and body incorrectly. So what ended up happening is that Eric, the manager here at Get Satisfaction, moved my topic to Microsoft's sections (not his fault, totally mine), so I apologize.
In Tiger you could minimize Quicktime and it would keep on playing in the Dock with full audio and video.
I have noticed that in Leopard when I minimize Quicktime, I only get audio but not video. Which I find it to be a step back. Is anybody else having this problem? or am I missing something in my Quicktime Pro settings??
I don't understand why Steve Jobs left out Notes syncing. I mean he actually said you can sync Notes at Macword 2007 Keynote, when he introduced the iPhone to us. There is Notes on iPhone and there's Notes in Leopard. Why not make them sync? It's a no-brainer. For me, if Notes do not sync with my Mac, then that application is useless. They realeased MobileMe and I can't believe they left out Notes and To-do List. Who really misses these features? And you CAN sync Notes and to-do list with .Mac, so why not MobileMe?
Ever since I installed Leopard (I have now updated to 10.5.4) my Dual 2.3 PowerPC G5 does not recognize that my printers (Epson 9800 firewire and an Epson 3800 ethernet) are connected to the computer. I have installed the latest drivers but cannot "add a printer" because they do not show up in the list and there is nothing to add. I can print to a wireless net printer but cannot SEE the ones that are actually hooked up.
I have .mac and a macbook and am trying to get it so ical will sync and I can access my calendar stuff online on another computer. It says I can on .mac when I go to calendar, but after I have synced (ical is checked) the calendar page on .mac is the same.
How can I get it so I can access my iCal stuff online?
Does OSX allow for files or folders to be merged? Default is over-writing the files\folders recursively. Windows allows you to merge files\folders when dragging one folder over another.
One out of every five times that I open up my MacBook Pro the mouse becomes unstoppably jittery. The only solution is to restart. Totally frustrating. Anyone else have this issue?
Hi i have a new apple imac 20 in 2.4 and the screen is just impossible to scratch!
i was wondering if apple made the screen
out of the same anti-scratch glass as the iphone and ipod touch?
My ex-wife reported that when she upgraded to 10.5 her system froze for a long period of time.
Is this common, and is there a way to avoid this? I was just about to buy Bento, the new database product from FileMaker, when I read that it requires Leopard.
Every time I try to open a WMV movie that is more than 60MB I get the Flip4Mac "converting" dialog before it opens in QuickTime. Usually it doesn't take long but if the file is larger than 80MB it can take a long while. I only have the standard free version of Flip4Mac.
Does anybody know of any other free Windows Media plug-ins for QuickTime that will allow me to open movies and audio faster??

Frequently getting to websites and mail were timing out. I searched around and saw other people having the same issues. I researched and figured out a fix. I posted the fix and the necessary code http://rubyisbeautiful.com/2008/2/1/o...
I have a first generation AirPort Extreme Basestation (802.11n) that I have hooked up to a big USB drive to provide centralized storage for my house.
However, my wife hasn't installed the AirPort Disk Utility on her (Tiger) MacBook and I can't seem to find the disc that came with the basestation. This seems like the kind of thing that I ought to be able to download from Apple somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.
It looks like AirPort Disk Utility isn't needed in Leopard, but until we upgrade, is there somewhere to download it?
I want to do install Leopard cleanly but I need to know the best process for doing it? Are there any tricks to getting my files and apps back on there after the install?
