Recently active topics in Apple about Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I think it's only happening in Safari (and definitely NOT happening in Firefox). It appears that a goofy font is being substituted for the desired system font. I *do* have a lot of fonts loaded in my system. But what's the best way to debug this?

i have Entourage 2008 set up to automatically sync my calendar with iCal. this is a great feature, since it lets me schedule my personal calendar items in iCal (while checking to see if they conflict with my business calendar items from Entourage, which in turn syncs to my Exchange Server at work).

however, for every calendar event scheduled in Entourage that has an alarm associated with it, i am now getting TWO alarms for the same event -- one in iCal, and one in Entourage!

so my question is, is there a way to disable iCal alarms ONLY for the items automatically sync'ed from Entourage? (ie. disable all alarms for the "Entourage" calendar in iCal).

How can I learn to program for cocoa?
I have no previous experience programming on a Mac and am looking to learn, I am currently having a hard time finding any suitable information on the internet.

Middle of last month I bought a 20" IMac. Everything was fine up until about 1 week ago when the screen went black. I clicked on the mouse button several times only to have a password box pop-up. After filling in the response, all was fine.

Next, same scenario but the password box didn't appear any more. The only way to get the screen back was by a forced restart.

I turned off the screen saver, set the 2 controls in energy server to off, unchecked the box at the bottom left & put "auto login" to to on the Accounts window.

Problem continued.

Next move was to zap the pram, this was 2 days ago. The screen didn't go black but often asked for my pw. It's now back to its beginning phase which is a forced restart !!

I was told that it was due to Leopard 10.5.2 & am considering going back to 10.5.1

Opinions, suggestions ?

The voicemail in my company's phone system forwards messages to my email address in the form of .wav files.

The problem is it seems like OS X cannot open .WAV files. I use 10.5.2 and have installed VLC player and a host of other multimedia players but that doesn't solve the problem.

How do I fix this when my 17" Mac Book Pro crashes everytime I plug in a USB storage device (USB flashdrive, camera ..etc)?

13" MacBook vintage 8/06. It could have occurred with a Tiger update, but using my simple headset no longer allows input via line-in. Tried new Shure PG-58 (w/ Griffin w/ XLR converter cable) with equal silence. Any OS bugs introduced? Frankly doubt hardware, but would rather do a USB workaround with iMic, no time to waste debugging either Bill or Steve's products. Thoughts?

I'm hearing from many quarters that batteries are running out of juice noticeably faster since installing Leopard. Why is this OS release so hard on the battery? Is Apple going to release a fix? Are there any other known remedies?
