Is anyone else's Macbook losing plastic around the edge of the keyboard? Last reply on July 05, 2008 21:22.
This seems to have started by the nubbins on the upper left and upper right of the screen hammering down on the edge of the keyboard. It's all crackly and little pieces of the top plastic are coming off. -

Seems to do it when it is going to sleep; not during active use. It scares me! -

Slow to delete/move files
I just got a new white MacBook 2.4ghz 2gb. It is fast, except when deleting files from the desktop and moving icons around in the Finder.
Is this normal? It takes about 5 seconds to send a file from the desktop do the trash.
But software opens really fast... -

Has anybody had problems with their "Magsafe" power adapter? Last reply on July 03, 2008 16:45.
I have a MacBook Pro just a little over a year old now. The Magsafe adapter charges my MBP fine but the usual set of lights are "green" when full and "orange" when charging. However, since about 5 weeks ago my power adapter turns from orange to black(off) or from green to black. Almost as if the Magsafe was never plugged in. I cleaned out the Magsafe connector and tried it again and it still does the same thing.
The main reason why I am asking if anybody has the same problem is because the Magsafe is not covered under the APP plan. If there are a few people with the same problem then this could be a faulty Magsafe issue and could be covered under the APPs extended warranty.

Bug with Spaces + Photoshop CS3 Last reply on July 02, 2008 19:59.
I'm using Spaces and have noticed when switching to Photoshop CS3 using COMMAND+TAB It hides some interface elements. The only way to get them back is by focusing on the current document and pressing TAB twice. -

Macbook doesn't shutdown properly after upgrading to Leopard
Ever since upgrading to Leopard, my Macbook does not shutdown properly. If I leave my external monitor or a usb cable attached to a KVM switch plugged in, it absolutely will not shutdown. The screen shuts off and it looks like it has shutdown, but if you listen carefully you can still hear the fan. To restart it, I must hold down the power button for several seconds to really shut it down, and then restart in a normal fashion.
Unplugging both the external monitor and the USB cable usually works, however, sometimes when I pull the plug on the USB cable, I get a dialog box telling me that I must shutdown by holding down the power button for several seconds. -

Why is Apple truely better than Microsoft? Last reply on June 30, 2008 23:04.
Why is Apple truly better than Microsoft? Smart answers here please, folks, none of the "BECAUSE IT IS, LOL!". What makes Apple the company it is today and what makes Microsoft so "bad" and Apple so "good"? All the answers I've ever heard on the internet were Apple and Microsoft fan boys screaming in all caps trying to win by volume rather than reason.
What's your take?
Edit: I know I posted this previously, but I worded the title and body incorrectly. So what ended up happening is that Eric, the manager here at Get Satisfaction, moved my topic to Microsoft's sections (not his fault, totally mine), so I apologize. -

What's the easiest way to sync the iPhone with Google Calendar? Last reply on June 28, 2008 05:39.
We use Google Calendar for all our calendaring. Is there a cheap (free) and easy way to sync to the iPhone? Someone suggested Plaxo, but....drewmcmanus asked this question on July 24, 2007 02:41. Sami joined drewmcmanus and 4 other people asking this question.

My Macbook sometimes doesn't wake up from sleep mode after I open it Last reply on June 26, 2008 04:00.
It normally wakes up just fine, but sometimes the screen remains off. For some reason it's not recognizing the trigger to end sleep mode. The solution for me is either to hit the brightness key (F2) a bunch of times (this worked on my old Powerbook), or hold down the shift button while touching the trackpad or space key (Macbook Pro).

Why won't my MacBook detect an external display? Last reply on June 24, 2008 23:43.
About 50% of the time, my MacBook doesn't detect an external display. I put it to sleep when leaving the office, possibly use it at home that evening, and the next morning when I return to my desk and connect it to a monitor, it doesn't detect. The "detect displays" command it of no help and a reboot is the only solution I've found.

Help! I lost all my pictures in iPhoto! Last reply on June 20, 2008 18:27.
I don't know what happened. I was working in iPhoto when I ran out of power. Put the power cable on, restarted and all my photos were gone, as well as albums etc.
In Finder I can still see them, but I can not reimport them to the library- I get the message "Unreadable files: The following file could not be imported. (The file is in the iPhoto Library folder). Does anyone know what happened and how I can get them back? They're not in the trash, either. -

My Children Have Outsmarted Parental Controls - Help Me Outsmart My Children! Last reply on June 20, 2008 18:25.
I set up parental controls for my children to access my macbook, but it doesn't seem to work correctly. I wanted to limit the time they can spend on the computer to one hour a day. Either my children have figured a way around it, or it isn't working right.
Would someone tell me how they might have over ridden the controls so I can over ride the over ride, or tell me a way to fix it?
By the way, the parental controls for Safari work wonderfully!! -

Why can't I copy/synchronize music from my iPhone to my macbook and synchronize entourage with iPhone and Outlook calender, contacts and notes? Last reply on June 20, 2008 18:22.
My iPhone is synchronized with my PC desktop computer at office (calendar, contacts, notes and music are synchronized). At home I use Macbook. I'd like to have them all synchronized e.g. entourage calender, contacts and notes with ones on my iPhone en Outlook items at office. Unfortunately iPhone is synchronizing only with iCal en Address book on Mac and not with Entourage, which I use on Mac instead of Mail.
Between iPhone en Outlook it works fine. But unfortunately entourage doesn't synchronize. Neither can I copy/synchronize my iTunes library with macbook at home. It seems to be working only opposite way from macbook to iphone. Why can't I copy music from iPhone to my macbook? -

Macbook battery won't take a charge after sitting for an extended period of time (10 days) Last reply on January 10, 2008 01:26.
I recently left my macbook for approximately 10 days thinking it was off. Well to my surprise it wasn't and now it seems the battery has completely drained and will no longer take a charge
I've tried shutting down, and resetting the PMU neither made any difference.
Any suggestions? -

Can I hook up my Time Capsule directly to my Macbook? Last reply on June 18, 2008 21:31.
I just bought a Time Capsule, and I want to back up my hard drive, but I'm having problems with my wireless network (or modem, I'm not sure which).
Can I just plug my computer into my Time Capsule with an ethernet cable and bypass the whole airport/wireless stuff? -

MacBook USB microphone poor sound quality Last reply on June 06, 2008 18:03.
I have been using Dragon Naturally Speaking voice recognition software on a PC for years. My work is dependent on this. My PC recently died and I decided to replace it with a Mac, running Dragon in Windows (using Parallels). I bought a MacBook (running OS 10.5.3) and loaded Parallels, Windows, and Dragon only to find that my USB microphone sound quality is for the birds. There is a lot of static and the volume and sound quality are completely inconsistent moment to moment. I have seen posts in other venues about microphone problems with Leopard 10.5.2 but 10.5.3 was supposed to fix these problems. I'm in trouble! What gives? -

How do I fix the latch on my MacBook Pro? Last reply on June 05, 2008 20:26.
The latch that holds my MacBook Pro appears to be broken. it no longer stays shut. This is a bigger pain than it might seem because after I shut it, the lid pops back up a centimeter and the mac wakes up. So I come back to a dead machine. Thank heavens for my timbuktu bag which holds it snug.....
