Here's what it needs, and add anything here, that I may have left off...Thanks!

- push and fetch email issues of not automatically pushing it to iPhone 3G, have to turn phone off and back on to get it to push each time (nothing to do with MobileMe)
- FLASH player (adobe is the most popular and well known)
- Bluetooth connectivity to every device (no locked down garbage that is on there now, not compatible with anything other than select headsets)
- voice dialing & recording
- voice activated & instructed turn-by-turn GPS navigation w/ real-time tracking (not just Google maps)
- MMS
- cut, copy & paste ability
- auto word complete that really works
- ability to "update all" apps at once, rather than individually
- ability to record video
- better camera with flash
- longer battery life
- the iPhone should offer tethering to laptops for use as a modem
- an external memory card (4GB, at minimum)
- navigation with voice activated gas pricing, restaurants, etc like what the Samsung Instinct offers thru Sprint (similiar to on-Star)
- how about LIVE TV & news on video, another thing the Instinct and regular basic phones offer

ps...there should be NO extra charge for any of this...it should be put in place in the next software/firmware upgrade/update!

I recently canceled my iPhone service with AT&T. They make it extremely difficult to cancel, and threaten exorbitant fees. The reason I canceled was because voice reception was awful (not sure if it's a general AT&T thing, or if I got a lemon).

On the phone, AT&T's reps refused to negotiate over the cancellation fee, and had the nerve to tell me there's no postal address to write a complaint. After one day, I realized that the mailing address for Customer Service is on the back of the phone bill. Also, there's the address for the California Public Utilities Commission.

Two weeks after writing to both AT&T customer service and the California Public Utilities Commission, I received a very friendly call from AT&T's Office of the President. He offered to waive the cancellation fee and pro-rate my last month. Night and day from the nasty regular customer service reps.

Here's the 2 addresses that worked for me:
1. AT&T Customer Care, PO Box 68058, Anaheim Hills, CA 92817
2. California Public Utilities Commission, 505 Van Ness Ave, Room 2003, San Francisco, CA 94102.

Tip: When writing to AT&T, make it clear that you are sending a copy of your letter to the Public Utilities Commission.

I don't understand why Steve Jobs left out Notes syncing. I mean he actually said you can sync Notes at Macword 2007 Keynote, when he introduced the iPhone to us. There is Notes on iPhone and there's Notes in Leopard. Why not make them sync? It's a no-brainer. For me, if Notes do not sync with my Mac, then that application is useless. They realeased MobileMe and I can't believe they left out Notes and To-do List. Who really misses these features? And you CAN sync Notes and to-do list with .Mac, so why not MobileMe?

I am very upset with Apple for nixing the .Mac services... especially iCards.



They were simple, they were elegant, and they didn’t bombard recipients with advertisements, HTML, Flash, and blinking GIFS.

I got responses from sending iCards I never got from sending emails... not even emails with pictures. The combination of whimsical images and text in one small, savable JPEG in the iCard message was hard to resist.

Despite a couple of homemade alternatives, iWant Apple iCards Back!!

Meanwhile, Apple seems to be doing everything in its power to block feedback about .Mac/MobileMe. The .Mac feedback form was not replaced by a MobileMe form.

Apple’s Discussion moderators deleted this comment from an iCards thread, so I’m plastering it all over the Web:

Furthermore, it is disgraceful that Apple is not informing users coming to the old iCards website what happened to iCards, displaying a generic MobileMe 404 page:



Apple has failed to offer even a token explanation for the removal of iCards from the MobileMe lineup.

From the stats on my Flickr post, I know for a fact that this is forcing thousands of people to wade through Apple's website and do web searches to find out why in the world that special person on that special occasion will not be getting that special iCard.

Aside from the MobileMess, I am ashamed of Apple's hard-hearted decision and the callous way in which it is treating long-term .Mac customers and others who have been advertising Apple all these years, associating warm, fuzzy or humorous feelings with Apple by sending so many wonderful iCards.

Do I miss Apple iCards? More than that. I mourn for their loss.

Okay so i tried to purchase a song and it said due to problems with the itunes store current payment method is not available and now it says i have no money when i had 23$ Btw payment method was gift card. I AM SO ANGRY ARRGGG

I am not a mac user but I had the best experience with the Genius Bar. A friend of mine had a 1G iPhone that was put through its paces as he is a construction manager for Abecrombie + Fitch. We went into an Apple store and we were out in 20 mins with a new phone. He even dropped $200 on a new bag b/c he was expecting to drop 3hun on a new phone.

I, as a result have bought an iPhone and a MacPro - I figured I should use a mac since I make my living on the web - www.easyTXTR.com

Cheers to Apple for putting a great customer experience in front of a profit - oh wait they made a profit on me, the new customer!

Got my 3G iphone last week but it won't connect with my home WiFi. It keeps rejecting my password. Thought if I typed in the IP address it would solve the problem but it won't let me type that in. I also tried restoring my iphone, that didn't work either. I then pressed the reset button, no joy.Never had any problems connecting with my Nokia N95, that connected perfectly everytime + never had any issues. begiining to wonder why I upgraded to the iphone.

I was wondering lately... I have a 53 inch LCD screen hooked up to my PS3 and i noticed that screen burn in's are a constant worry of the T.V. designers even when i turn off my PS3 the "no Imput" message moves around the screen to prevent burn-in i also have a 24 inch aluminium imac and i was thinking since it's an LCD too cant it get burn-in especially with the dock and toolbar always there just a thought.

Save to Phone, another web app from Ben Brown. Really useful if you need to save a map, say, or anything else that's a one time instance and thus link-challenged.

Call it good karma or luck, but I thought I was doomed to pay an arm and a leg for iPhone repair. I was so amazed they replaced my phone, I thought I'd share my appreciation for the Apple Genius Bar.

Even though I got it wet, the water sensor was undamaged, so they replaced it noting "that is just stopped working." Amazing, truly amazing.

Is referencing support going to be built into pages at some point? For example, citations and cross referencing, figure labeling, etc?

It would be great to have these features, particularly for academic papers.

My wife and I traded T-Mobile for AT&T last night at the Palo Alto Apple store with no waiting or hassle.

What I really want to point out is the person--sorry, her name escapes me--who stuck on our screen protectors. She is really, really good. She took her time and got it exactly right ... this is a small thing, but more than enough to keep us coming back.

If you think Apple is a problem try HP and you will find out what problems are (if you can understand any of the non-English speaking support staff). After 30 years with Compaq / HP products I just bought a MBP. Not an easy transition but so far superior to the PC I'm amazed.

Service has become non-service by mostly foreigners for most US companies and HP delayed and delayed repairs until my machine's $400 extended warranty expired - typical.
My experience with Apple phone support has been great. If you are displeased with Apple, try another company and you'll find out what a nightmare can be.

Why is Apple truly better than Microsoft? Smart answers here please, folks, none of the "BECAUSE IT IS, LOL!". What makes Apple the company it is today and what makes Microsoft so "bad" and Apple so "good"? All the answers I've ever heard on the internet were Apple and Microsoft fan boys screaming in all caps trying to win by volume rather than reason.

What's your take?

pricing for Mobile Me is still too high.
Offering 30 days for free because of a feature not working in the Mobile Me service is still not good enough imho.
Nice gesture, but i'd rather have what the service offers on their website.

Alright, Apple said they would stop calling "push" to their "15 minute interval sync service."

As outlined by a hint from MacWorld, you can adjust the interval to make it more of a true "push" service. Here is the article:

Feeling conned by the promised "push" technology of MobileMe, specifically when making changes on your Mac, only to find out that it will not push, but instead, sync at 15-minute (60 minutes in 10.4.11) intervals? I found the .plist file that controls the "Automatic" sync interval for MobileMe, and changed it from 15 minutes to 1 minute. The file is located in ~/Library » Preferences » ByHost » com.apple.DotMacSync.your_MAC_address.plist.

Open this file in Property List Editor, find the AutoSyncInterval key, and then set it to the number of minutes after which you want it to sync with the server. I have it set to 1 right now, and it syncs every minute which is good enough for me at the moment. Hopefully this will be of value to anyone who needs something more immediate than a 15-minute sync, and doesn't want to bother with Manual sync.

Who else finds that TV show episode availability on iTunes is often spotty?

Recently The Daily Show episodes never showed up and both Colbert Report and The Daily Show episodes are often late (sometimes days). Another example, The Closer (episode 1 of season 4 aired last night) is not yet available.

If the TV networks and Apple want to keep users from resorting to BT, they need to make the experience of getting TV show episodes consistent and reliable.

Is anyone else bugged by this or am I alone?

I know that Apple is powering up to convert .Mac service to the Mobile Me thing, but I've been getting this error screen constantly for a couple weeks now. Happens when I open emails, when I send emails, when I try to delete emails... I have also frequently been advised that the system is not capable of deleting messages at all. I'm trying to be patient in anticipation of the switch, but wondering now if my experience is common. (and it's not like this is a FREE service)
