With everything available via iTunes these days, my iTunes directory is getting huge, and I've talked to others that are in similar situations. - Not enough space. Movies, TV shows, music videos, music, iPhone apps, audiobooks, end everything else.
It would be nice if iTunes would allow [advanced] users to specify locations for different "media types". This way, libraries could be better organized, backed up, and even spread out.
i.e.
Music: x:\iTunes\Music
Music Videos: x:\iTunes\Music\Videos
TV & Movies: y:\videos
Audiobooks: x:\itunes\books
...and so on.
Time capsule-based incremental backups seem to just eat bandwidth and take a l o n g time to complete. How do I fix this?
The time capsule icon just spins and spins, and my network monitor consumes multiple megabits per second, often for hours when backing up my Macbook Air to the time capsule. It doesn't matter if it is connected via wired or wireless. And I'm not talking about backing up lots of data, I'm talking about a regular backup of 5-6MB per backup. This is taking much much longer than expected, both in the preparation and finishing stages as well..
When you move an external mouse slowly, the pointer moves very slowly, and when you move it quickly, it the pointer moves very quickly. This sounds intuitive, but the tracking speed is not proportional to the mouse movement. I need the mouse and pointer to move at a 1 to 1 when using programs like Photoshop. How can I disable this "helpful" mouse speed acceleration/deceleration?
What is an easy backup solution for OS X 10.4 (Tiger)? I was very excited about Time Capsule, but Time Capsule requires Time Machine, which is only available on OS X 10.5 (Leopard). Is there anything available for a MacBook Pro running on Tiger?
And in case it matters: I have a dual-core machine running Parallels with Windows XP. Internet, email, media apps on the Mac side. Microsoft Office on the Windows side. Would be nice to back up both, but the Mac side is the must-have one since most of my docs, ppts, etc are in a folder on my Mac desktop.
Frequently getting to websites and mail were timing out. I searched around and saw other people having the same issues. I researched and figured out a fix. I posted the fix and the necessary code http://rubyisbeautiful.com/2008/2/1/o...
