0xE8000001 error - Cannot Sync/Install Applications
After the 2.0.1 update, during sync I get the 0xE8000001 error - some applications cannot be installed. I can download the app in iTunes, but will not sync to iPhone. This did not occur in the past

Inappropriate?Problem occurred for a week and then sorted itself out. Still have carrier update issue
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I also have this problem, but... well, only with cracked apps. I tried ssh into phone, and that permission changing thingy, rebooting etc, but it doesnt work.
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?I'm having the same issue but only with apps given to me by a friend. The ones I purchase from the iTunes store directly seem to synch, but the others give me the error 0xE8000001. Is there a work around?
Thanks.
I’m unclear
-
Inappropriate?I think I have solved the issue. I just downloaded the update for Cro-Mag Rally and I received the same 0xE8000001 error. I then remembered that I had previously downloaded an update direct to my iPod Touch via the App Store. I read, I think on the Apple Discussion Pages, that it is better to download updates for your iPhone/iPod Touch through iTunes rather than via the App Store on the device.
An experiment came to mind. I uninstalled both Aurora Feint and Cro-Mag Rally from my iTunes Library. I then downloaded both Apps from the App Store onto the iPod Touch. There were no errors and the Apps work exactly as they should work. I have now downloaded them again into my iTunes library.
I think I will continue to use the method of uninstalling then reinstalling from the App Store for both of these Apps.
With regards to Apps from a friend... I did not think my work around will work for you.
I’m confident that my work around will work. At least, for me. :)

Inappropriate? But i downloaded my apps from torrents and i cant get them on the app store on my ipod touch so basically i have all the apps on itunes but they wont sync the same error would occur with unclebigdaddy if anyone finds a solution please post a comment and if i find a solution on maybe another form then ill post again
I’m Angry

Inappropriate?Right everyone heres a good form to go on;
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.j...
or;
http://discussions.apple.com/message....
go on both.
Also the problem is apple, because i remember my cousin saying that when you upgrade, apple have designed the upgrade so it is meant to crash your ipod/iphone that probably, so in other words this is all a big con by apple so she says.
So the solution is to roll back to 2.0.0 firmware thats when the solution becomes the problem does any one know how to roll back....
I’m Still Angry

Inappropriate?Hi everybody, I fixed the error completely.
THis was my scenario, Iphone pwned with winpwnd in 2.0 firmware with hacked games added using ipa files in itunes and also SSL into iphone using WinSCP.
I did a firmware upgrade to 2.0.2 using winpwnd with custome logos and everything. After the upgrade, I started getting error 0xE8000001 when trying to sync my hacked ipa files (applications) into my iphone.
I finally remember that as part of the hack for accepting this applications we were supposed to replace file name “MobileInstallation” in “/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework”.
THis is the guide I followed for getting the file and replacing it:
http://ipodtouched.net/?p=307
After this is performed and you replaced that file, itunes will sync your hacked applications without a problem. Don't forget to power cycle your phone after the file change using SSL.
Any questions contact me at kathyhidalgo@gmail.com, it would be a pleassure to help.

Inappropriate?I fixed my problem ...
1. Open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor)
2. Select the process for iTunes Helper
3. Click 'Quit Process' in the toolbar (when prompted "Force Quit")
4. Disconnect your iPhone/iPod
5. Power off you iPhone/iPod completely and power up again
6. Reconnect iPhone/iPod
7. (Optional for Developers) Delete any previous apps that you want to upload using a developer certificate
I’m relieved

thanks, I misplaced my original usb today, used an aftermarket one, and this removed the errors! -
Inappropriate?Does this work for windows? would you go into task manager and click processes and click ituneshelper.exe and end it? would that work toi?
I’m Confused
-
Inappropriate?I had this problem too! To solve it I ended up restarting the computer (powerbook g4) and the iphone (2g) and then the itunes would see the iphone.
-

Inappropriate? Thanks to leko party i have a the perfect solution.
A: Instead of downloading the apps off itunes, uninstall them and download them on your ipod/iphone from app store.
B:If (like me) you have to use Itunes, then leko partys's solution should work perfect!
After a year (and a bit) we have finally solved the problem!
I’m confident
