Black MacBooks can't use video chat?
Why are black macbooks having trouble with incoming video chat streams while white ones aren't?
All forms of video chat on my black macbook refuse to display incoming video.
My camera and mic are fully functioning, as are those on all the other test macbooks I used while experimenting. Any two other macbooks (which are all white) would video chat perfectly.
To isolate a browser issue (for google video chat), I tried Firefox and Safari. Both did the same thing.
To isolate a hardware issue, I connected to various other macbooks (which could connect to each other fine), and they all behaved the same.
To isolate a form of video chat, I've tried both Google Video Chat, and iChat with a .mac account, which both did the same thing.
To isolate an account issue, I had another person, who could use video chat on their own macbook fine, log into mine, with their google account (or iChat account), and try video chat. They had the same issue.
All of my software is up to date. An Apple Genius in Hillsdale was unable to determine a cause of the issue. From what I'm reading online other black macbooks are having the same problem. Is this a coincidence, or is there more than a harddrive and color of case difference between these and their fully-functional white cousins?

Inappropriate?Total coincidence. Reinstall the OS from the discs that came with your computer- use the "Archive & Install" option. It will keep your documents and settings intact. More: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710?vi...

Done. No dice, same problem. Although, I must say, that was by far the most pleasant OS reinstall I've ever encountered. Any other ideas? -
Inappropriate? Were the other macbooks you tested connected to the same network? IE, all connected to the same router at your house that you have problems with?

One was on the same router, two others are remote.
Conversely, I've tried my macbook on the other routers as well, both locally and connecting to remote macbooks.
The last combination was using this macbook at the Hillsdale Apple Store, connecting to a macbook at a cafe in Dallas. -
Inappropriate?I met a mac support engineer recently, who was polite enough to hear my tale. He suggested setting up another user, stating that if it were a one-user problem, then it can CERTAINLY be fixed. If not, then there's something physically wrong with my machine.
Well, no good. The second user couldn't receiving incoming video either. That means it's not a configuration and settings problem, so reinstalling from scratch (not saving anything) probably wouldn't cut it.
I'm doomed to turn it in to my local genius bar for an indeterminate amount of time, aren't I? Man I hate going without my laptop...
I’m running out of options...
