Bug with Spaces + Photoshop CS3
I'm using Spaces and have noticed when switching to Photoshop CS3 using COMMAND+TAB It hides some interface elements. The only way to get them back is by focusing on the current document and pressing TAB twice.

Inappropriate? You would think that as much as Photoshop and Mac's go hand in hand, they would have found a fix for this long ago. It's also frustrating when switching back to Firefox I need to click the window before it's actually selected.
-
Inappropriate?Looks more like a "spaces" issue, since it does seem to affect many apps.
-
Inappropriate?@Jordan
When switching back to Firefox hitting command ⌘ + L will focus the address bar.
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?yes, this seems more like a spaces bug, but it is most annoying in photoshop when I alt-tab back to my window and I am missing half the UI
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? This is driving me nuts. I had a warning message from version cue hidden behind my images. I couldn't find it, and photoshop wasn't responding. It took a lot of spaces shifting, and app switching to finally get the warning message to the top. I almost lost a lot of work cause of this bug.
It's been how many months since leopard came out. It's the first bug I noticed... how can it take so f____n long!?!?!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? Thanks for the Firefox idea, but it's still an extra click and still too frustrating.
I'm considering turning spaces off too. I found it hard to keep things organized and the odd behavior (Heath, I feel your pain) make any benefits a moot point. I do like the idea of using it for boot camp though... -
Inappropriate?I use 6 spaces at work. I use too many apps to use one desktop. I've become so used to spaces I can't just switch it off. I've considered installing CS3 on my parallels machine and running CS3 in coherence mode. Between MAC OFFICE 2008 spaces bugs, and CS3 spaces bugs, I may have to drop back to one desktop.
I’m sad

Inappropriate?not only do I have this problem, but I also find that after switching in and out of the space where I keep photoshop I get all sorts of cursor problems---when using the brush (clone, healing, eraser, etc) tool, the cursor will completely disappear on me (the tool will still function but I can't see where I'm using it until I actually click), or the when using the shape or selection tools the cursor will flicker between the crosshair and direct selection tool and I can't actually do anything. There is no fix... I'll have to quit photoshop and restart...

Inappropriate? It looks like Adobe are too busy working on CS4 to fix this. http://digg.com/hardware/Photoshop_to...

Inappropriate?my fix for the loss of controls:
focus photoshop, then tap F8 (or your spaces trigger) twice.
I’m still annoyed...
-
Inappropriate? Is it just my imagination or did the latest Apple update (10.5.3) just fix this issue?
I’m happy

Yes I do believe it did! -
Inappropriate?I am still having the issue, and now my "double-tap" F8 method doesnt work anymore. So when i lose my controls, the only way to get them back is to either switch around until i get lucky, or to go to window-workspace and choose.

Inappropriate? It does appear to have fixed pallettes dissapearing.
I want to live with it for a few days before I say this problem is solved.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate? My cursor flickers and I have to restart Photoshop for it to work again. The disappearing palettes seems a little better since 10.5.3. Annoying...
I’m anxious for a fix

Inappropriate?WORKING FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM:
1) Under your Photoshop folder, go to /Scripting Guide/
2) Right click Sample Scripts, Add to Archive
3) Delete original Directory
4) Restart application
5) No more flickering mouse cursor or palette reset issues! :)
It seems to come from a conflict when grabbing information about object/palette state for scripts for some forms of Javascript. Provided none of this particular type are active, you don't have this problem.
If you use scripts a lot, this might upset you but from what I can tell, it only affects the Sample Script directory.
I’m satisfied

This did not fix the problem for me. -
This appears to work, but the computer needs restarting afterward. Going to test it out more before I consider it a fix. -
Inappropriate? So the 10.5.3 update changed this problem, but not fixed it. The palettes don't really dissapear anymore, they're just blank... you still have to double tab to get it all back.
The save for web window no longer dissapears which is useful.
Still not fixed though. Going to try the script thing above.
I’m undecided

Inappropriate?I have the flickering mouse issues. When I am in Photoshop in 1 space, and switch to another, and back, I get the stupid flickering cursor... and have to restart Photoshop completely...
Update; I tried the scripting directory fix.. well, it didn't fix it. I did get the 10.5.3 update.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I think OS X 10.5.4 update fixed it. I'm not sure, but its been a while since this problem has plagued me.
I’m hoping it's fixed
