Can I sync To Do's with my iPhone?
What's the best way to manage a to-do list on the iPhone? It seems like the calendar just ignores them, and as far as I can tell you can't sync notes. Does anyone know of a good to-do list that syncs with iCal and a simple web-based interface with an iPhone-ready version?

Inappropriate?Someone is working on a 3rd party app for a todo list, but I don't know if there is any talk of how it would sync, if it did sync. I also would like to see this added. there are some 'Web 2.0' apps out there, but they don't really cut it when you want to have everything in its right place!
I’m with you!

Inappropriate?37Signals has a beautiful product called "Ta-Da List" which is free and works great. You can check it out at tadalist.com. This may not serve every function you are looking for, but it's a great start.

Inappropriate?Definitely a very sad omission, that one would have to hope will be resolved officially at some point. Some folks are hoping/dreaming/speculating that after the release of the upcoming Apple operating system "Leopard", that may get rolled back in, the thinking being that leopard has a number of system level task/notes/calendar things going on that they may want to tie into for mac users. Obviously only time will tell.
In the meantime, for a platform agnostic, web-based hack solution, I'm also a big fan of Ta-Da Lists.
If you are on a Mac, OmniFocus is a GTD style taskmaster (still in beta) that features a built in webserver and iPhone optimized web interface, so you can access and update your tasks remotely on your phone, which I'm enjoying greatly.

Inappropriate?Great ideas, Brendan! I didn't know that OmniFocus was iPhone enabled, but I'll now give it a whirl.

Inappropriate?Leopard's new Mail application has ToDo/Notes functionality - I believe the plan is to enable Syncing with them in an iPhone SW update at the end of the month.
-
Inappropriate?You can kinda now - http://www.apple.com/webapps/producti...
It's a webapp that lets your read your Mac Mail IMAP To Do's until apple releases something else. -
Inappropriate?Just a tip of the hat here to http://dopointoh.com/. Made expressly for the iPhone.
I’m not getting things done

Inappropriate?I'm taking my iPhone back tonight!!!!!!!!!!! Rip off!!!!!!!!!! If I can't eve handle my Outlook tasks and memo's, then I'll just stay with the Blackberry.
Besides I hate iPhone's touch pad screen. I keeps messing up my letters. What a headache just sending out a text message and/or e-mail.
I’m P.O.ed

Inappropriate?Check out: http://lists.zenbe.com/
Free for the iPhone...Based on the web, so you can get it anywhere....You can sync...and share (& allow someone to edit) a list .... This works great for shopping lists if I'm out shopping and my wife adds something to the list....All I do is sync and it's there.
I’m loving Zenbe

Inappropriate? With iPhone 3G, still no sync of Notes and To-Do with Mail 3. What are they thinking at Apple?
-
I don't know, even as trueblue iPhone fan, this seems crazy to me. Though... not as much a loss, as when it comes to tasks, I'm an Omnifocus man, myself. FWIW, they now have an AMAZING iphone version as well - syncs over the air with your desktop install, and in a lot of ways, at least for actually COMPLETING (not as much planning) tasks, the iphone version is even better... -
Inappropriate?I still very strongly recommend Things. It is a fantastic programme which is feature rich, easy to use, and syncs.
-
Thanks for the suggestion and I'll have a look at the software, but I do prefer an Apple solution instead of installing all kinds of 3rd software.
It's only for personal use. -
I second this advice
However sync capabilities in Things are weak for the time being (unusable if you have 2 macs, and no push) -
Inappropriate?reqall is great. Its a free app and has, amongst other features a todo list that can be updated on the iphone by text input or voice or on the web.

Inappropriate?Things for iPhone or Remember the milk for iPhone will both solve this irritating issue until Apple deigns to address it.
I’m amused
-
Inappropriate?Hmmmm... i think i'm gonna wait for the solution from Apple, but thanks for the many opportunities offered here.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Hmm, uhm... There has been at least something on the iPhone for To Do's, and hardly anybody ever mentions it.
If you check the mailboxes on the iPhone, there is one named "Apple Mail To Do" with To Do's from Apple's Mail app. Unfortunately, there does seem to be an issue with reading the content of the To Do's. -
Inappropriate?I've been using taskdata, a new app available on itunes. It'll let you add/edit/delete tasks that will sync wirelessly to your Microsoft Outlook.

Inappropriate?iPhone syncs with iCal. iCal has todo items. Palm has todo items on their calendar. Get with it Apple!!
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? This is clearly a huge mistake on Apple's part on three fronts.
1. They do not support tasks on the iPhone for our Macs
2. They do not support tasks via exchange sync
3. They do not support notes sync
The bottom line is that they need to address these issues, PIM does not mean just cal and mail, unless Apple things we don't use those features in Outlook. The problem then escalates further as you get into Entourage which the MBU clearly forgot to add sync for notes and tasks with exchange as well. What the hell should i have to buy a 3rd party app for tasks when it should be included?
So for now, i'm considering going to the BB Bold and or try to make www.toodledo.com cover my needs. I certainly like their site, and their iPhone app. I tried all the others from Milk to iMExchange which syncs exchange tasks to the iPhone but does not work offline.
I wonder what basic things will be missing in 10.6? they say it will sync with exchange... does just mean contacts, mail and cal? what about notes and tasks.. I'm not sure how Apple does business, but out here in the rest of the world we use tasks and notes in our PIMs.
-Entourage is worthless
-iPhone is crippled without tasks and notes from exchange/mobile me
My suggestion is that they build a new app for tasks that will sync with exchange and the iPhone thru mobile me.
As well, sync our stickies as notes or come up with a new app.
GET WITH IT APPLE...SHAME ON YOU
I’m shocked

Inappropriate?Try this program...if you use microsoft outlook: Staying on top of your tasks is a snap with KeyTasksTM software. Developed by Chapura, Inc., KeyTasks is the most reliable iPhone and the iPod touch task application designed specifically to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. This companion to Outlook keeps your task information accurate and up-to-date on both your PC and iPhone or iPod touch

Inappropriate? There are a few apps that will sync to do lists with your ical. one is to do by appigo. sad thing is= its $10. ive done some digging and it looks to be the best one. there is a lite version which only does 5 items. ive seen another for $5. but the appigo syncs wirelessly via wifi. Im dissapointed that Apple left this out.

Inappropriate?I've been using Evernote, but it's not entirely satisfactory. I, too, don't get it - how could there be to-dos in iCal on my MacBook, and my MacBook iCal syncs with my iPhone, and yet the to-dos can't be found? I bought a MacBook just because I thought it would be awesome for syncing with my iPhone!
I'm still waiting to be able to search my mail, and to cut and paste, omissions for which my friends on BlackBerry mock my iPhone.
I’m frustrated
