Cannot specify timezone information on iPhone calendar events

Cannot specify timezone information on iPhone calendar entries. Often I want to create a new entry on the iPhone but I want to specify the event in the timezone where the event will occur, not in the current timezone that I am in. The problem arises when we are moving between daylight savings for various locations (eg California, Sydney-Aus and Auckland-New Zealand) and the dates for change do not align.
