Early Macbook no longer charging. Is it covered under AppleCare?

I have a Macbook that is a little over two years old and the battery is intermittently not holding any charge at all. When it does hold some charge, it is for about 10-20 minutes. I have AppleCare for another few months. Is the battery still covered or is this seen as "normal wear and tear"? The cycle count is currently 231.
