External speaker slowly stops working
Over a period of months, the external speaker on my iphone has gotten quieter and quieter and now is barely audible. This really wouldn't be a problem except that this is the speaker that the ring-tone comes through, as well ... so i basically can't hear my phone ring! A pretty vital feature on a phone.
I wouldn't post this here (since I don't expect an answer), but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE! Apple has already replaced my phone once because of this problem. I'm out of warranty, but I'll probably go to apple and raise a fuss and/or beg for mercy. They tend to be pretty cool when you're actually in the store face-to-face.
Am I just jinxed when it comes to iphone?

Inappropriate?Greetings, I know this is an old post. But I figured I'd reply as well. I have the same problems as you do. But i've noticed that it is random. Applying pressure on the docking cord or bezel in funny ways will make the speakers function for as long as the pressure is held. Its weird because it seems like a software issue with the speakers fading out as I type on the keyboard eventually going mute. But then pressure causes the speakers to work loud and clear when listening to music, etc. /shrug I just need a new phone.
