Flash support for the iPhone!
Please Apple, add Flash support. There is soooo much Web content that is Flash out there, and a lot of Web software, too. It would really make the Web experience unbeatable on any phone.

The iPhone has made me wish that websites weren't so Flash dependent. Sometimes Flash use is just... flashy, and doesn't add to functionality. I've seen many websites that require flash when they could really do fine without it. How about providing an alternative (non-Flash) menu system, for example, when Flash isn't available? (menus are virtually free to program, and if you do it right you can update both at the same time)
I know, I'm asking to change the World, rather than change the iPhone. I still think iPhone needs Flash, but that Flash is overused.

Inappropriate? There are a few people that have been reporting that Flash will be in a soon to be released update for the iPhone... check the link out:

Inappropriate?Well that is good, even great news! I found this little tidbit in the article quite interesting:
We already have had a couple people ask about the supposed battery and CPU issues that were holding Flash back from being included on the iPhone in the first place. From what I am hearing, it was a complete fabrication.
It's sad that we're still handed disinformation by these companies along the way, don't you you think?
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate?Ugh, terrible news: Jobs says there will be no Flash support on the iPhone. Here's Scoble reporting on it--http://scobleizer.com/2008/03/05/appl...
I’m quite sad

Agreed! -
Inappropriate?Only basic Flash would really be viable on the iPhone: how on earth do you expect things like drag and drop to work? (Safari's drag and drop move the page; good luck interacting with Flash)
Although I wish there was an option to play Flash, I prefer the web without it on my little device.

Inappropriate?I like this, to an extent.
It would be good to have but at the same time, flash runs like crap on my MacBook. I'm pretty sure it would paralyze an iPhone. -
Well K the solution's simple. Don't visit flash sites/pages... -
Sure, but my point was:
what's the point of having it when its not going to be useful? I'm not saying flash on mobile devices shouldn't happen, I just don't think the current generation of mobile hardware is up to the task of running full fledged flash unless some major optimization work is done by by Adobe and those that develop in Flash. -
Inappropriate?I don't think there will be flash because every time there's a new version so i doubt there will be.
-
Inappropriate?Omg please!!!! Add it in 3.1 idk if it makes my iPhone slow Just add it please
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?@Daniel, no chance of that in 3.1. Demonstrations have already shown that the experience is poor at the highest.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Flash wouldn't "paralyze" an iPhone considering that it runs fine on my 400 mhz Windows mobile device.
I suspect that Flash doesn't play well with multi-touch in the browser at this point.

Flash on OS X is a dead dog compared to Windows. It's seriously - woah - slow and CPU crazy] -
Inappropriate?just JailBroke to see how it was...Installed a flash player plug in WORKS
AMAIZING!
so don't tell me it doesnt work on the iphone 3gs -
Inappropriate?Nobody really wants Flash in their iPhone. I even don't want Flash on my computer. Flash is wart on the web. Everything you can see in flash can be done in other standard and open way. the iPhone is actually pushing flash away. This is for me the greatest features of the iPhone. Throwing this dirty crap to the trash. No Flash = Less CPU usage, less fans rotation, less electrical consumption, less global warming, more life, more fun, more freedom. Fuck flash!
I’m angry
-
Inappropriate?Flash CS5 has a feature that allows developers to compile to native iPhone apps, for whatever that is worth to iPhone owners.
The notion that Flash is any less green than other "Rich Media" options is epic, in the most logically challenged kind of way. It's the kind of comment that I expect from the sort of developer who would create an infinite loop to check his email 100 times a second. -
More that the green aspect.. I talk about standard. Flash is absolutely not standard. The web MUST be standard. And I don't call "developpers" people who wrote flash. they just designer++. On Youtube flash drains 78% of CPU. With Click2Flash (that allows to see directly the h264 stream with external player) on Safari, the same video in HD drains only 12%. I don't think people at youtube makes infinite loops to get their mails...
