Inappropriate?Apple takes its simplicity maxim to an absurd extreme in its mail apps (both Mac and iPhone). The only simple way to do this (that I know of) is to actually write your mail in TextEdit, use its bullet feature, then paste it back into an email.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Thunderbird it is then ... shame because I like the Apple Mail client in general.

Inappropriate?i've tried everything as well - search in help produced nothing. writing in word and then pasting into email program works, but awkward of course.
i can receive messages formatted properly.
very frustrating. i think i'll go back to eudora. bullets are terribly useful.

Inappropriate?not sure if this will help:
goto "format" tab; "lists" ; "insert bulleted list"
problem is I haven't worked out how to get rid of the bullets once the list is complete. if anyone knows would be grateful to hear the answer.
I’m unsure

Inappropriate?Hi shanks
Your're right! This helps alot. Is this then only possible in Leopard?
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?I only have leopard now so cant speak for tiger
-
Inappropriate?Just found out that in Mail 3.0 (Leopard) you can insert the menu in Format > Lists > Insert bulleted list as a toolbar icon in Mail.
Just right click or ctrl + click on the toolbar and choose the List icon. Drag it to anywhere on the toolbar.
I’m happy
-
When you right or ctrl click the toolbar you off course has to choose Customize toolbar. -
Inappropriate?Mac mail is a BIG Pain in my A##. Why can't apple trust users with a simple formatting toolbar right on the compose screen. Instead, I have to go to the clumbsy menu and look for something as simple as insert image, bulleted list, right, left, center justify. I think Apple sometimes need to stop "thinking different" and follow some conventions of user interface that EVERYBODY understands
-
Inappropriate?completely agree, formatting bar is what we need. And how on earth do you turn bullets off - madness!
I’m annoyed

Inappropriate?I always find that ranting helps me come up with a solution!
Here it is, to get rid of bullets / remove bullet formatting in apple mail:
Apple>[ then hit return. This takes the indent to the left of the screen. Apple ] increases the bullet indent by the way : )
