How do I change the default location of screen captures?
I'd love to put them into a folder on my desktop and stop cluttering up my desktop. I'm using Leopard.

The easiest way I know to do this is:
Download Onyx at:
http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs2/engl...
Open Onyx and go to:
Parameters > general
In the middle of the window you'll see:
" Screen Capture Format, Path, Name "
You can change those settings to your liking.
Next time you press "Shift + Command + 3" your image will be saved in the folder you choose.

Inappropriate?Awesome, that worked, and it was pretty easy. Also Onyx looks like a great way to change a lot of things about how my computer operates. Thanks for the tip and explanation!
I’m happy and hoping you find coffee

Inappropriate?1. Create the folder in which you want the screen captures to be saved in the location of your choice.
2. Open a Terminal window and type this:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Full/Path/To/Folder
3. Log out and log back in, and the change will have taken effect.

Inappropriate?Yeah, I saw that a while ago too. I didn't do it because I didn't want to deal with the terminal window, but I'm sure a bunch of people will find this useful. Thanks!
