How do I use Spaces on my Mac?
Spaces on my Macbook pro is all over the place. I can be in space one and it will suddenly switch to space two. If I use safari for space one and word for space two my computer gets incredibly confused. Sometimes when I click on the word document it just takes me back to safari and won't let me use word at all. Am I being thick? Is there something about spaces I'm missing?

Inappropriate?I would recommend going to the System Preferences and clicking on the Spaces tab. There, you can actually set up which programs go in which spaces so they always stay there.

Inappropriate?Even if you implement Chris Taylor's suggestion (which I would do), you will still have problems like you're describing. Apple relies on third-party vendors to implement Spaces-friendly applications, and they don't always do that, or do it well -- particularly with "helper" windows that the main applications fork off when they need them. Helper windows often go into Space 1 (or into the space in which the main app was launched) regardless of which space the master app is in when the helper window is launched.
You should take the issues up with the application vendor who wrote the app that's behaving weirdly.
