If you rent a film from iTunes, Apple should offer to let you buy the film for keeps, minus the cost of the rental.
I think that if you rent a film from iTunes, you should be able to buy that film at the normal iTunes purchase price, minus the cost of the rental.
So if you rented a film for £3.49 and the film cost £10.99 to buy, if you liked the film, you could choose to buy it to keep by paying £7.50.
