iPod touch 2G won't start up

My ipod touch has been working perfectly fine untill i stopped using it for about a month or two. Now every time i start up my ipod, the iTunes picture comes out(The one you get when you first get ipod) and when i connect it to my computer, the ipod doesn't show up. The only thing i can do is turn it off and on.
