is it better that i always keep my macbook plugged in?
The more people who ask this question, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?I always assume that battery life is very dependent on what you're doing, and everyone is doing different things. So, I'm not sure it is possible to fully answer this question without some deep, technical knowledge. Maybe someone else out there knows the tech details but can dumb them down a little for us?
I do know, however, of a neat, free app that might help you understand more about your battery. It's called Coconut Battery: http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconu.... It lets you see how much wear and tear your battery has taken since it left the factory, along with a bunch of other stats. Good luck!
I’m hoping this helps.

Inappropriate?Your MacBook should not use the battery when it's plugged in, so YES it saves battery life.
One thing that reduces battery life is heat, because chemical reactions (aging) inside the battery run faster. On my old Dell I always used to take out the battery when it was plugged in, but since it's harder to take it out of the MacBook I leave it in now. -
Inappropriate?I just assume I'll be buying a replacement battery once a year. That may seem expensive, but $100 for a Macbook battery is just two tanks of gas in a fuel efficient car, but with the battery it lasts at least a year! It's well worth it.
I’m not worried at all
